Paul Ruinaard Posted July 14, 2020 Share So i had a brain wave/fart/enema. I needed a laptop stand for Zwift - something i could reach close by and that could support a laptop and that was adjustable. Found this music stand on Takealot which works brilliantly. All for R 549. https://www.takealot.com/bk-heavy-duty-music-stand-solid-back/PLID52753350 Use it or not - solved my problems a lot cheaper than some of the stands that i saw. Also handlebar cellphone mounts for Zwift companion on the phone/music etc: https://www.takealot.com/s-cape-fixed-bicycle-handlebar-mount-for-cellphone/PLID65538297 Pieterlab1

dave303e Posted July 15, 2020 Share some will say this is better... the reality is, that you can buy a welder, grinder, steel, wood, castor wheels and make something a little less refined but very similar for under the price of one of those. I did my setup slightly differently to yours. I used the music stand to mount a 24" screen on the front, and an Apple TV on the back. The cables are all cable tied neatly to the stand and I have a big fan standing just behind the music stand. It's a neat setup and works very well! Paul Ruinaard Posted July 15, 2020 Share some will say this is better... It's the R 10 off that makes it a steal. gemmerbal
RobertWhitehead Posted July 15, 2020 Share I used the mechanic stand once for my phone, it fits in quite nicely and you can clamp it in place
Simon123 Posted July 15, 2020 Share I bought tube steel, a can of spray paint and had some wood at home. I then splashed on 4 wheels. Complete cost? (I had welder, grinder etc) R340. And honestly, it's miles better than any one I tested / saw because the bigger wheels roll nicely on my gym floor and it holds my 16" Laptop perfectly with space for a bottle or two. Not to mention fits well around the front wheel. It's stable as anything, but if I did it again, I'd fill the bottom piece with sand / lead / weight to have it bulletproof stable (not needed), but it may affect rolling. Pity I dont Zwift anymore. I literally made it 1 ride before the ban on riding outdoors lifted, and outdoors beats indoors, so fuuuuuuck that. DR ◣◢ Posted July 15, 2020 Share Wall mounted a spare 40" TV above my desk. 27" monitor below that to stream Netflix or YouTube for a a distraction while riding. Desk is in reach for water bottles and phone. No possible for everyone but a TV can be purchased for R2999 and a wall mount bracket is R200. Already had the 27" monitor for work and a laptop. Duane_Bosch Posted July 15, 2020 Share I use a normal desk with a laptop and TV on it. My water bottle is in the bottle cage where it should be. My phone goes in the cutaway of my guitar which is hanging on the wall next to me. DR ◣◢
