Not uncommon to trash a pair of lenses from your favourite pair of cycling or recreational sunglasses. Replacement lenses from the manufacturer are usually about the same price as a new pair of glasses so you end up either throwing them away or stashing them in a cupboard hoping that someday you might find someone that can repair them at a reasonable cost.

Well today is your lucky day!. (Unless of course you threw yours away.....)

I recently found out that a lady in our neighbourhood (They can courier anywhere so location isn't really an issue) was able to manufacture replacement lenses for sunglasses and they have recently added half frame lenses to their service which covers most of the Oakley sport range.

These are high quality optics with various colours and coatings available and they are polarised. I replaced the lenses on a pair of Arnette Heist and a pair of Oakley Monster Pups and was very happy with the results!

Just to add that I am in no way affiliated to this business, but when the service is this good and the quality of the product is top notch, it makes no sense not to share!

Thanks for this.

I have previously bought from Revent (https://www.revantoptics.com/collections/oakley-replacement-lenses) on my own, as well as with a group purchase by a few Hubbers. As these guys are USA-based, it’s good to know someone locally, especially if their prices are good.

I always bought my sunglasses based on being able to get replacement lenses, so if the locals can do anything, at a good cost... [emoji1303]

I have also used Revant Optics before. (The shipping was actually more than the lenses...)

Turn around time with ReVu was 24hrs (I dropped them off with Carolyn after work on a Monday and she sent me pics of the new lenses fitted at around 11am the next day and I collected after work)

I use them every day and the tint, colour etc is spot on. (I found the Revant tint to be a bit too dark)

My next pair will definitely go to them for replacement lenses.

Brilliant!

Thanks for that - I have 2 pairs of Oakleys in the cupboard needing new lenses.

I also asked if they do Jawbreaker lenses.

My lens is on its way already.  Great service so far, I'll test out the lens when it arrives and if I remember I'll report back  :P

Sent 4 pairs (3 x Oakley and 1 x D&G) they all came back amazing! 7 days from pickup to getting returned. Really happy with the service and results

Do you send the old lenses to them and they try fix, if not make new for you?

I have some old oakley gascan's(that I love and still use) with a few scratches on, the one I would consider fairly bad but and the rest just light scratches from general use.

They don't fix, just replace. The more common designs like Holbrooks and Jawbreakers they have stock of so they just ship it to you. Less common designs they will custom make if possible.

They are quite responsive on whatsapp and marketplace and the service is slick and efficient.

****EDIT****

ReVu I am speaking of now.

I got my lenses replaced by ReVu this week. They arranged for a courier to collect my sunglasses on Monday and I received them back this morning (I am in Joburg).

The quality looks and feels great and the service from ReVu was outstanding, consistent communication throughout the process.

Received my replacement lenses for my Oakley Batwolf yesterday, fitted perfectly. Polarised and delivered to my door all for R500. Very impressed with service, communication, quality and price. Will be making use of them again for sure. They have limited stock of some Rudy's as well.
