Satellite classic 2020

Hi everybody

As ASG has pulled out of the Jock tour,i am asking around to hear if anyone has heard something if any other event company is going to host the event in Oktober,as the mtb events are going on in Okt why not rode events.

I crested the post to get info and not to be hammered by negative comments please.

Stay safe

Morne

I would be surprised if there is any racing this year!

Almost doubtfull the 94.7 will happen considering Covid19 numbers are still rising.

So you will unlikely hear anything until they know for a fact that the event can be hosted.

Ja, its a shame for the 94.7.....

It raises a lot of money for the charities...

Other races are just for fun.

We are so excited to bring you a road and MTB race you can count on at the end of the month. But we also know that these are uncertain times, and that many of you have been at the receiving end of other races' no-refunds policy.

While Satellite Classic has all the necessary approvals and support to take place on 28 and 29 November, we also want to let you know that all entrants will receive a full refund in the unlikely event that the event has to be cancelled due to stricter lockdown levels in the next few weeks.

We are working closely with all authorities in this regard, and have all the necessary COVID-compliant safety measures in place for maximum safety.

Meanwhile, entries are open for the 106km / 32km Road Race and the thrilling 5km lap-format MTB Relay, with strict entry limits in place for 2020. Those spots are filling up though, so we suggest you secure your risk-free entry now to avoid disappointment.

Is this a pre warning that it won't happen?

Thats 2 races in 2 days not explicitly saying out loud that something might stop races from happening.

Somethings brewing out there.....

Waiting for Cyril to speak...probably depends whether he introduces new / stricter lockdown measures that could impact the races.

Would be total double standards if he does when you see the pics on FB of the recent ANC mass gatherings.

That said, wouldn't put it past them as we all know that it is Cele and NKZ that run the government

As long as the wind blows from the back

Indeed, looks like the wind will be from behind for the second half of the race...Last few km to the finish against the wind again.

First race back for me after long battle with post concussion syndrome from crashing at ride4sight in Feb. Hoping the grey matter holds up with race intensity

nervous excitement to be back at the races

Great weather on the day. Had a great ride in AL. Some traffic issues before peacanwood and some rough road surface around the rural area. Otherwise a great day of racing after lockdown.

Also had a great day out. Perfect weather and appart from the manure spilt all over the road past Van Gallens was an awesome ride.
