Are you talking about this area:  http://www.legendsmx.co.za/

This looks pretty cool but he said it was "self made" routes that the guys just ride through the agricultural area so wanted to see if anyone has info. I will head out that way this weekend and see what i can discover maybe map a route of what i find, been craving some serenity lately and just wanna ride dirt where there is no one else.

Just hang out behind Serengeti or Eastlands/Dunblane and you'll stumble across the MX guys from Kempton park. They go through every weekend.

There are regular rides that the Sunward Slipstreamers and Bicycle Line MTB groups do out to Broodblik / Bapsfontein and back. If you find Jason Evershed on Strava he rides around there a lot, could glom some routes from his strava account.

Oh, ya, if you're looking for MTB rides in that area, Finish Line in Kempton Park is who you should talk to. I'd bet even money Clint or Mike would be able to point you at the MX guys in the area as well.

Most of the enduro guys off roading there is on smaller dirt roads and service roads.

That whole area is a gravel grinders dream IMO.

We used to ride out there a lot on mtb but I don't have gps tracks I used to just go with a map and compass for practice.

There is a railway line just south of Bapsfontein, the railway service road heading east and then North will get you all the way through to Rosemary hill. From that service line you can detour on dirt roads past oxbow country estates. On the way back you can head up WTF hill, through Tierpoort and Bashewa AH. The dirt roads there are fairly safe and nice and quiet to ride. From there you can cut through to Tweefontein AH along that lovely tree lined road and it will pop you out back at Bapsfontein.

I have done the above ride alone, that was when I was young and dumb, but knowing the area it is fairly safe in a group, that being said South Africa, never let your guard down.

You can re stock on food and water at Rosemary hill and the Q4 Fuel station along from WTF hill. If you need it earlier Legends MX has food and drink or Jala petrol station.

Honestly, print a topo map, chuck it in your pocket and go explore, put the adventure into mtb again.

This is exactly what i want to do but i want to do it in a group as you mentioned as one cant be too safe.

I have GPS that i ride with so im planning on just having the map open to see where "tracks" lead off  and we can do our own thing.

I just wanted to confirm that there are "trails" there, i know bredell has a ton of dirt road and its 3km from home so really close and i just wanna get the bike dirty i dont need a park if i can be out in the open doing my own thing.

Truly appreciate your post thank you kindly.

Damn you guys. I just had a huge pang of homesickness.

Riding around the mielie fields on Benoni was one of my favourite things to do. Such great memories....
