Bibbed Baggies?

Recommended Posts

I prefer to pick my bibs based on preference and past experiences. Very happy with what I ride in currently.

I then like a specific kind of baggy that allow me to wear a kneepad comfortably.

Baggies never have a good quality liner anyways so if they had to put in a bib it would most likely also be sub standard.

Either that or you will pay around R3000+ for a pair.

How about a simple pair of braces then?

I should probably try this, find some wide ones, give it a try.

Was seriously hoping to find some off-the-shelf ones to spoil myself with

Cause they work their way down no matter what

the fox range of baggies i have no issues with it dropping and they separate items.

The indola baggies are sewn in and also dont experience it dropping really.

however i am only in the saddle about 3hrs max at a time

The only time I experience my baggies sliding down is when they are too big for me and when my hip pack is too loose.

Other than that it’s perfectly ok

why would you need to bib baggies?

If you've ever spent the day on a bike in the mountains, in the rain and sludge, you'll know why...PS no amount of chamois cream prevents the slow dribble of gravel-infested slime running down your back from grinding away at your tackle....

Wide BRACES are available from Flying Brick, in Cape Town (021 510 6455), many, many motorcyclists use them (similar reason), and they only want the WIDE ones, with PROPER clips. Around R395-R450 per set, many colours available. They should last you many years!

Another thing you could do is buy some plastic or steel press studs from a haberdashery shop and press one through your bibs and one through your shorts.

That way you can have lots of bibs and lots of shorts but with a small press stud or two pressed in so you clip the shorts to the bib when you get dressed.

The studs will also be almost invisible when wearing the bibs without shorts.
