Neville Bailey Posted February 16, 2021 Share I have a 10-speed Giant TCR road bike, and I need to replace my rather worn rear cassette and chain. I currently use a 10-speed 105 11-32 rear cassette and would like to replace it with the same, if possible. It seems that nobody has stock of what I want, even after scouring some online stores. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on one?
ChrisF Posted February 16, 2021 Share Some serious stock issues ! Replaced my 11-speed cassette last week ... simply no stock of the range I had on the bike. Only options were to either go for Sunrace, or a Shimano with a different range (smaller granny).
bleedToWin Posted February 16, 2021 Share Until recently I've been maintaining a 10-speed road bike.My advice is to go through every single item on the bike that might need replacing in the short to medium term and importing the whole lot yourself. What triggered this for me was brake hoods becoming tacky and one starting to tear on the inside. No local stock and no plans for local bikeshops to import. This was before covid related stock issues. Margins are too small for shops to hold stock on most of these items.
David Marshall Posted February 16, 2021 Share You will have to use a Tiagra, mountain bike cassette or import yourself. No interest in supporting the older 10 speed road components locally. Even most of the Tiagra 4700 10 speed parts are not compatible.
BMXER Posted February 16, 2021 Share The sad truth is that most manufacturers are producing, A) what sells fast and B) what yields the greatest profit. With limited production time, limited labour and limited logistics capacity world wide you will face issues with older generation components.
