Bikes stolen at van Gaalen Cheese farm

Hi all

Please be informed of the posibility of crime at the van Gaalen cheese farm. Our  bikes were stolen of the bike rack today (locks and straps were cut) after our ride at the cheese farm.

Please be on the look-out for three bikes, the description and rewards are as follows:

A white Merida HFS 3500, Brand new (two weeks old) - the reward is  R2000

As well as a black Merida (Matts Miami, with V-brakes, and XT deore), and a Blue and grey Silwerback (Alpine). The reward for these bikes are R1000 each.

Please be on the look-out, as we believe that this was not done by amateurs, and thus the bikes will likely be traded in or sold.

The bikes were stolen today (05/09).

Please also be cautious when cycling at the farm, as this is most probably an organized crime.

Regards

Jaco Immelman

My advice, First make pamplet with all the pics of bikes. All special features on every bike in detail. Take that personally to all bike shops, contact cycling South Africa to put a mesage out to all Cycling clubs. Contact head office for Cash Converters and Cash Crusadres. The head office will forward to all franchise. Contact all big pawn shops. Take the pamplet with case no, to all Police stations requesting notice to be addressed at daily meetings for patrol. Continue going to new areas every day, do not give up. Do make sure to take full advantage of any free advertising radio or newspaper.

I was able to trace my bike and had the police pick it up in just offer 10 days.

Do not give up.

Bad Luck

Been riding there and also locked my bikes whilst we had lunch. What rack was it?

The place is busy - did no-one see the theft?

This sucks.

Apparently there was another hijacking at the Steppes yesterday morning.

Is there anywhere we can still ride safely? Maybe we should all head to Canada.
