Aurora Posted October 18, 2009 Share I was at the end and had to help find medics for the riders, does anybody know the state of their injuries? I think Dan Carven has a broken Collar bone and so does Jamie Ball but what about Sean Ward? He injured his back, anybody have news? Hippo? How it happened was the lead bike went over the timing mats and they lifted off the ground as they wernt stuck down properly, i have a pick of how it started but nothing after that. Michelle or Pantani might as they were also there.

Pantani Posted October 18, 2009 Share It was bad, like a war zone, dead and wounded everywhere!!! Michelle will have some better pics, I know she got them hitting the deck. Worst crash I have ever seen... I hope Shaun will be OK, he looked bad on the scene...
HappyMartin Posted October 18, 2009 Share Real sympathy for the guys. Hope they are Ok. Timing mats lifting and causing this? Insane!! Is that why the results are not yet posted? Oh no wait, they always take days and days dont they. Someone has to pint them out and someone else manually enters them onto the web site or something. Its called technology

bd54 Posted October 18, 2009 Share I saw the whole thing happen to ,,,,crazy SH#T....It all happend in slow motion!!It can only be the race organizers to blame...Surely the race organizers/time officals know by now to stick the mats down with some sort of tape or something. They only put tape onto the mats after the crash.I was also shocked to see how long it took the medics to get to the scene to help the guys out after the crash. Wish all you guys who went down a speedy recovery.bd542009-10-19 02:11:
gtr1 Posted October 18, 2009 Share Will be the usual s&!t. You pay lots of money to enter, pay to have timing, and guess what, nobody will accept repsonsibility, will blame each other and the cyclists will suffer. Just my humble opinion.

GLuvsMtb Posted October 18, 2009 Share This makes my stomach turn. Do these events not have proper procedure manuals? This looks like gross neglegance.
Capricorn Posted October 18, 2009 Share i wonder if the indemnity covers lack of due diligence on behalf of the organizers. If the knew, or rather if anyone knows that a mat not secured, a mat that MUST be crossed by all contestants I must add, has a very high risk of an accident, then i truly doubt the indemnity applies. Then it's a case of either wilful or unwilful negligence. Any wigged ones here to give us some guidance?
