Empty the one day, full the next day from a massive thunderstorm 114 mm in one evening, thanks to GuyP and family for bringing the rain with from Pta :D This dam is really good for swimming, yes "kaalgat" swimming too, the farmstyle way :D Looking fwd seeing you hubbers there !!

Some more

 

Loved the frogs - this one looks like one of the two which came out from one of the chairs about half hour after sunset every night and went down to the waterhole. Next morning we found them safe back behind the cushion!

Plenty other things of interest too - some good birding, some intersting insects including dung beetles.

Agreed, it's not just about the game!

 

Got a lovely video of a dung beetle (every nature lover probably aspires to getting one of those!), a pic of quite an old tortoise, and a pic of a very glossy blue/black flying insect digging a hole while out on my night ride. Will post pics when I get my phone back from being repaired!

 

And that's not to mention the stars and the sounds!

The tortoise you are referring is most probably the one that criss-crosses the farm all the time, its amazing this old boy, is at one end the one day and the next day you find him at a different spot km's away.

 

Dung beetles...............my dad love those okes, he himself can give you a interesting lecture on them............just ask him when you go there again :D
