Starry nights Posted December 28, 2010 Share Some more Loved the frogs - this one looks like one of the two which came out from one of the chairs about half hour after sunset every night and went down to the waterhole. Next morning we found them safe back behind the cushion! http://www.michaelsomers.co.za/frog.jpg Edited December 28, 2010 by Aonyx

Starry nights Posted December 28, 2010 Share Plenty other things of interest too - some good birding, some intersting insects including dung beetles. http://www.michaelsomers.co.za/dikkop.jpg http://www.michaelsomers.co.za/dung.jpg and a heart shaped scraping by a porcupine - perhaps for another porcupine :-) http://www.michaelsomers.co.za/porc.jpg Edited December 28, 2010 by Aonyx

GuyP Posted December 28, 2010 Share Agreed, it's not just about the game! Got a lovely video of a dung beetle (every nature lover probably aspires to getting one of those!), a pic of quite an old tortoise, and a pic of a very glossy blue/black flying insect digging a hole while out on my night ride. Will post pics when I get my phone back from being repaired! And that's not to mention the stars and the sounds!

The tortoise you are referring is most probably the one that criss-crosses the farm all the time, its amazing this old boy, is at one end the one day and the next day you find him at a different spot km's away. Dung beetles...............my dad love those okes, he himself can give you a interesting lecture on them............just ask him when you go there again
