  1. I have a Ravemen CR1000 front light for my road bike and I am impressed with it, except for the strap mount. I would like to mount it upside down with a GoPro adapter under my Garmin Edge mount. This will look much neater and hopefully more sturdy than the strap mount. Apparently it is possible to rotate the lens 180 degrees in order to keep the T-shaped light pattern correctly oriented when mounting the light upside down. I can see a little notch on the lens bezel, but I don’t see how I can use it to rotate the lens. Do I need a special tool or is there a hack out there?
  2. Hi Leslie, I cut a piece of hardboard to fit inside the caravan passage and then bolted some rooftop bike anchors onto the hardboard.
  3. The start times in this document do not correspond to the WhatsApp and email messages I have received regarding my start time. The communications state that my start batch is Q at 7:50am, but according to this document batch Q starts at 7:35am. Which is it?
  4. Methinks we might drive the gravel road and then park at the tar road and ride from there...
  5. We are camping at the Van Zylsrus Caravan Park at Kuilsriver from Monday to Thursday, so a short visit. Margaret and I hope to squeeze a few rides in the mornings, nothing too hectic though.
  6. Great, thanks for this. The access road to River Destiny is 5km of gravel - will that be sufficiently compacted for our road bikes?
  7. We are doing a road trip from Durban to Cape Town with our caravan, and taking our road bikes with so that we can do some cycling while we are in Cape Town. We will be leaving on Saturday morning, and camping overnight at River Destiny Campsite, on the banks of the Orange River, in the Gariep Dam area. After a full day driving, it will be nice to get on our bikes and stretch the legs a bit, and explore the area at the same time. Any suggestions on routes to follow, bearing in mind we have road bikes?
  8. I used a GoPro Hero with a 64GB sd card, connected to a battery pack.
