Event Name: S2M 2020 When: 24 April 2020 - 25 April 2020 Where: Merweville Primary, Western Cape Category: MTB THE WAWWA FOUNDATION WILL BE HOSTING THEIR ANNUAL MTB CHARITY "FUN RIDE" FROM SUTHERLAND TO MERWEVILLE ON THE 24th & 25th APRIL 2020 ENTRIES ARE OPEN 24th JANUARY 2020 ENTRIES CLOSE ON 7 APRIL 2020 EVENT INFO 2020 - ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW The entry form is available on our website: www.wawwa.co.za COST: Route 1: VIA Banksgate approximately 230km over two days R3750.00 pp Route 2: Sutherland to Merweville 110km R2800.00 pp REGISTRATION: Registration will take place on Friday evening (24th April 2020) at the Sutherland Hotel from 19:00pm-21:00pm. START TIME: Saturday 24 May 2020 at 08:00am. Riders must be very careful when riding down the mountain pass. We will have a medical team available from Start to Finish. STARTING POINT: Opposite the Sutherland Hotel. FINISHING POINT: Merweville Rugby Field. There are shower facilities available at the boarding home (Huis Mervia). Hairdryers, towels and body wash will also be provided. Please note that there is no cut off time as this is a charity fun ride, not a race. The event will not be timed. WATER POINTS / HALFWAY MARK: There will be sufficient water, energy drinks and a 'boerie braai' at the half way mark. This stop is compulsory to all riders. Please note that Wawwa will only supply food / drinks and snacks for riders not spectators / family members etc. There will be no food for sale at the halfway mark. WHAT TO CARRY: Riders are encouraged to take sufficient energy bars / food for your estimate time in the saddle. Please carry at least two full water bottles with your drink of choice and preferably a full "Camelbak" if you have one. Riders should be able to fix a puncture and may want to carry their cellphones (although, cell phone reception is limited). Medication / Inhalers etc. Please make us aware of any medical conditions. SUBSTITUTIONS: Cyclists who have entered and paid, but cannot participate in the event for whatever reason, must inform us immediately at admin@wawwa.co.za or 0219060528. No cyclist is allowed to participate under the name of another participant. All substitutions close on the 09 April 2020. VEHICLE TRANSPORTATION: We have drivers available to drive your vehicle from Sutherland to Merweville. Please note that we send drivers from CPT to assist with this, should you book this service and not make use of the driver provided we will charge you a cancellation fee. 1 DAY ROUTE: PLEASE NOTE: 24th April 2020 - A buffet dinner will be available (Afal available on request) at the Sutherland Hotel. This must be booked and paid to the hotel before 09 April 2020. 25th April 2020- At the completion of the ride, once everyone is fresh, we will have a casual sit down meal prepared by the staff at Huis Mervia. We would really appreciate your attendance. All drinks and the meal will be provided by The Wawwa Foundation. Please let us know if your family / friends will be attending the function with you (for catering purposes). 26 April 2020 - A breakfast will be available for those staying at Huis Mervia - Breakfast will be served from 7am.
