  1. Event Name: Compendium Gravel GrowlWhen: 10/09/2023Where: Currys Post Primary School, Curry's Post, KwaZulu-NatalCategory: GravelBurg Wheelers Cycling Club is proud to present the inaugural COMPENDIUM GRAVEL GROWL on Sunday 10th September from the Curry’s Post Primary School. Curry’s Post is an untapped cycling gem in the KZN Midlands, nestled between the popular Karkloof Valley and Nottingham Road and offers some of the best cycling terrain in the KZN Midlands. Burg Wheelers Cycling Club is one of KZN’s biggest cycling clubs and is based in Pietermaritzburg. With a growing interest in off-road cycling, commonly known as ‘gravel grinding’ the club decided to organise a gravel event to expose this relatively new discipline to more riders and share some of the beautiful ‘country roads’ the KZN Midlands has to offer. The routes have been carefully selected by experienced gravel riders who understand what makes for an enjoyable and memorable ride ! The Curry’s Post community have backed the event 100% and are pulling out all the stops to welcome us to their area and showcase the many attractions they have to offer. Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the Curry’s Post Primary School and the Curry’s Post Conservancy. The event offers affordable entry fees, carefully planned routes (85km, 45km, 28km options), well stocked water tables, some great prizes and lucky draws and an overall value-for-money package. And hopefully a perfect Spring day for riding. We look forward to welcoming you to CURRY’S POST on Sunday 10th September ! “It’s gravel, with a bit of growl !” Go to Event Page.
  2. Hi There. This is a brilliant product. I have put them on my wifes and my bike for bike packing, and it eliminates the sway from your saddle pack. I bought mine from Bikepacking Africa. They don't always keep stock, but I had to pre-order and it arrived a few weeks later. Give them a call. Check out their link. https://www.bikepacking.africa/product-page/xsway-saddle-bag-stabilizer-bar
  3. Hi Gerald. Thanks to you and admin team for organizing another great fantasy tour. We all enjoyed logging in each day to check on our teams. Can't wait till the next one!!!
  4. Thanks to all involved. Really enjoyed watching the leaderboard unfold. Here's to 2016
  5. Haha - very funny. That's why our local bike technical advisor is going to have to offer his services before we go!!!
  6. We entered this week. Can't wait. Also spending a week in Alp Duez and a week in Les Gets. Nothing like 3 weeks of alpine mountain biking!!
  7. You quite right Hairy. If it wasn't for SSWC, I probably wouldn't have done it. I've got say, i really did enjoy the bike, and looking forward to using it more often. Theres a 65km race on this weekend that I'm going to try.
  8. I have eventually joined the world of Single Speed. I have rebuilt my old team Mongoose. It's the third time the bike has come back to life. It may not be an original SS, but it works quite well. I've just finished a 3 day ride on the Wild Coast with it and loved the bike. Now to get my entry in for World champs
  9. I placed my order on the 12th April and it arrived sometime between last Thursday and today.
  10. I've just bought my wife the BMC Speedfox and must say its one of the best bikes I have ever riden. This is 1 bike you should look at.
  11. I've just built up a BMC Trail Fox 01. What an amazing bike. I love the ride. Great geometry and feels very responsive.
  12. No they don't. They only have the Kwela hardtail so far.
  13. Thanks for some info guys. I'm just not familiar with rockshox which is why I asked the question. My wife has the 26" FOX RLC on her bike which we really happy with. Anyhow, I must make a decision next week if I want to get a bike before Xterra Grabouw.
  14. Hi guys. I'm trying to decide between a Fox RLC or a Reba XX for a 29er hardtail. Which would you choose, and why?
  15. What did that all cost if you don't mind me asking, as I'm also saving up to hopefully buy someting.
