  1. Knowing how they deal with after sales service is the big plus for me on this. I will much rather support Lyne knowing that if I have a problem later down the line (see what I did there) they will have my back unlike these "big" brands who doesn't care...
  2. If you read this you would see that I explained what to do to get it on Iphone seeing that it is working on my Iphone. https://www.ultfone.com/fix-iphone/how-to-download-apps-not-available-in-your-country-iphone.html But anyway, good luck, hope you get it sorted
  3. I'm sorry but why ask if anyone has a "workaround" and then when you do get an answer you argue and say its not possible? Why make the post in the first place then? I have attached a screenshot that I just took of my app and it also happen to update the bike when I connected to it.
  4. weird, i have been running with it for since last year Feb and have even changed phones since then and I have changed from Gen3 to Gen 4 so I had to get the newer app
  5. I have made both the "old" version as well as "new" one work on my phone. I assume Iphone as its available on Android in SA. On Iphone you need to create a US apple account and sign in to your app store with that account. download the app and then you can sign back in to your proper apple account again. app will then work and update as intended
  6. I have a question regarding a warranty repair on my Ebike. I dont want to mention the brand as I am in communication with them and they deserve to state their case first before I go bos. Not to make the story 7 pages long, the summary is as follows: Bike came up with error while riding one day (error code pointed to speed sensor fault). Took bike to LBS and they tried to fix, bike ended up being sent to headoffice, headoffice sent bike back saying its fixed. I picked up bike and took me 30secs in the shop to test and see that its still faulty. Bike got sent back to headoffice, some time went by while they tried to fix it, I threw a couple toys around and they worked on it a bit harder. They came back and said bike is fixed now, no more error codes you are good to go and sent the bike back. (this all was a 3month process BTW) Got bike back and what they did was they placed 7 spacers in between the magnet and the brake rotor to bring the magnet closer to the speed sensor. Took bike for a ride and no errors. So here is my question: Am I wrong by saying that the "solution" they gave is not a real solution? Yes sure I am not getting the errors anymore but the problem has not been fixed. They found a workaround to the problem. What happens when I decide to change brake rotors and spacing is now slightly different? What happens when I try and sell the bike to someone else down the line, how do I explain the "fix" that he/she needs to remember about so that the bike can keep working? How hard will it be to sell the bike if I have to point that out? I asked them these questions and waiting for their feedback on it but I wanted to check if I am being unrealistic with this.
  7. You have a website or something?
  8. Agg pls, with the amount of trail riding you do there is no surprise you haven't broken/bent one. The last time you rode a MTB was when fire roads were considered "extreme"
  9. We working hard in the background to give everyone something to look forward to. Unfortunately its not as easy as just picking a couple of venues and hosting it there as there are a lot of things that can make them a "no-go". (council approvals, farm owners, time of year etc). As much as we would like to pick the 4 nicest venues and host it there it is simply not possible. We will be releasing some info regarding the first event in the next day or 2 so keep an eye out for it.
  10. You can take the bike to GearChange in Mowbray. They can help you with it
  11. I did a quick spreadsheet to work out costs depending on membership and distance from trails. It was a rush job so I might have a wrong formula somewhere but it looks like its working. It also has a bike maintenance cost at R2.50 /km in it (this is E-bike rates). Fill in the green values and it will spit out numbers I think it works 😁 Trail Costs.xlsx

  13. I am doing a longer trip in December with family and taking my MTB with. Bike gets transported on a Thule towbar rack. Question: Will it make a difference if I make a plan to mount the bike without its wheels on to the rack so that it is lower and narrower and sits more "behind" the car instead of sticking out like a wind sail? I have checked and seen that my economy goes from about 5L/100km (without bike) to about 5.8/6L/100km (with bike). I have an idea of how to do the actual mounting but don't want to go in to that too much now as I think that will steer the convo in a different direction. opinions?
  14. These days as soon as someone gets upset they blame ebikes. All forum posts will eventually end up in the "Do eBikes belong on the mountain" thread.
