I went from a Fox to a RS Reba, worst decision of my life. I just can’t get that fork to come close to feeling as nice and plush as the Fox did. I have had it serviced and checked multiple times, always thought there was something wrong with it. Every time I’m told everything is in order and working as it should. Definitely going back to Fox when the budget allows.

Are aero extensions allowed? Just asking because I looked at the rules and they mention the below in the rules: No dropped handle bars or aero bars will be allowed. This rule will be strictly enforced and riders who fail to comply will lead to disqualification. I don't want to rock up at the race only to be told that you can't have those on your bike.

I will be beyond pissed off if we loose access to the trails because of someone who thinks he does not have to abide by the rules, just because he has a "marshal" board on his handlebar. So until someone who's involved with the management/building of the trails says marshals are allowed to ride before sunrise/after sunset with lights - they need to abide by the same rules.

Take the SK's. It's like extra clothes, you can take off what you have but you cannot put on what you don't have. There are sections that you will want your SK's a lot more than the little benefit the regular GK's will offer on the tar sections.

Someone discussing the groupset, giving a reasonable explanation with real world examples of actually riding his bicycle. The other saying his one groupset shifts better than the other.

Spoke to him yesterday. He got a puncture on the first lap (porcupine "spike") through the back tyre. Then he got another puncture on the 19th lap quite far from the start/finish, so he had to run the remaining loop back to the start/finish area. After fixing the puncture he got going again but once riding, he said his Achilles tendon was very painful, and his lower back muscles went into spasm. Attempting to run in cycling shoes while pushing a bike was obviously not a great idea. He decided to call it quits after that lap because he did not want to add another injury to his ever growing list. I'm not sure if he was in the lead at that point, could have been. Maybe somebody can confirm? He didn't train for the race and only found out about it last Wednesday.

Please point me in the direction where I said they were there to entertain? I have made my point very clear. I will say it one last time: Calling a truce 80km's from the finish is a joke. It seems one cannot, or may not have an opinion on the matter, if you've never been there before (according to mr Shaper).

Been there twice before, thank you very much. Perhaps you need to take some of your own advice, before assuming I have no idea what they have gone through, or of the "situation".

Yes, so obscure that some of the top endurance racers from overseas are racing it. I'm sure Alex Harris will appreciate that comment. Ultra-Endurance racing has never been a mainstream sport, most probably never will be. I don't give a rats ass if they held hands singing khumbaya while crossing the finish line together. What grates my nuts is that the decision was made with 80km's still to race. Whoever brought it up in the first place, smells of someone who's afraid of coming second/loosing. The fact that it was accepted by the other party pretty much says the same.

The question needs to be asked when that "arrangement" was made? Looks like it could've been at the Tankwa Padstal already. There's plenty opportunity left to win from there. Hell, even with 1km to go to the top of Bainskloof someone could've made the race winning move/attack. There is not a snowballs chance in hell, if both of them tried their utmost to win it right until the very end, that they would've crossed the finish line together. Even Mr Munga, Alex Harris himself was involved in a 3-way sprint for 3rd place during the TDR. After almost 4400km's they didn't decide to roll over the line together for a 3 man joint 3rd place!

Any thoughts on which of the two made the suggestion to roll over the finish line together? One of them must've made it first.

There is nothing left to "hammer" at this point in time. They will most probably wait until they get as close to the turn off from the pass, before giving whatever they have left, to get on the track first.
