  1. Great - thanks very much. I will certainly look into using this in my planned ride
  2. Hi all. I see the Doc guys have a ride from the South down to the Vaal Dam. Does anyone have a MTB route from the East Rand (Lets say Carnival City) to Vaal Marina on the Vaal Dam? I could take the tar routes of the many road races in the area to get to the Circus and then link onto the Doc route, but would prefer to stay off road if possible. Any suggestions ?
  3. I was one of the guys waiting at Noordhoek Farm Village after having lost my hanger bracket having been hit from behind at around 8am. Loaded bikes into trucks and was then told our mega bus would leave when full. If not filled they would only leave at 3pm. Ridiculous! Why use the bigger buses. Why not just use the Mini's only. These fill much faster. Secondly, why put the water point at the farm village and not the intersection turning left towards Chappies. Would be so much easier and faster to shuttle ill fated riders back over Ou Kaapse Weg instead of along the route itself! Anyway, we managed to Uber back at 12. Bus and trucks only left at 3. Thanks to Joseph and James for the uber ride. Big up to Irene, our Uber driver ????????
  4. Same in 1G. My race ended on the turn into the last climb on Smits. Caught in the middle of the bunch with riders unclipping. Continual stop/start on every little climb. Had my hanger bracket taken out from behind! Limped to top of Smits but then had no gearing when we reached the top. Terrible feeling watching the bunches fly in the tail wind! Spun my way to Scarborough were mechanic tried to assist but ended up braking the hanger bracket off completely. No spare in his tool kit! That's racing I guess. Perfect day for a PB and possible sub 3. Roll on 2017. These things happen. My only gripe is the number of riders who obviously don't have the skills to ride in larger bunches. They are jittery and stick out like sore thumbs. They should ride on the outside of the bunch until they have the confidence to ride up close. While they might be fit enough to ride there, their lack of skill is a huge risk to the rest of the riders around.

    Sani2c 2016

Good to hear entry system is smoother this year! Roll on tomorrow for the Adventure!!
  7. In my opinion, the Tacx trainers have never been very accurate in the Power Readings. I changed from Tacx to Cycleops a while back for better acuracies.

    Sani2c 2015

Anyone by chance find a Garmin 810 down the bottom end of the drop into the Umko?? Lost mine when buying my very own personal piece of land - stupid fall due to lack of concentration during Day2 of the Adventure!! Overall a fantastic event yet again, even though I do thing the trail is not as well manicured as it used to be - but thats probably what the true MTBer wants! Will be back again in 2016!
  9. Thanks so far all. I guess it all depends on your own particular strengths an riding style...
  10. I know this topic has been debated in some detail, but I would be very keen to know, especially from the guys that just rode the Joberg2c on what front Chainring they rode. Cheers Keith
  11. We used to ride road in the area but too many trucks these days.
  12. I am at Port O Call near Vaal Marina. Won't be there this Easter as will be at the coast. I do know however that there will definitely be some guys riding MTB I in the Vaal Marina area as training for the Sani2c. Try contact Brent Lincoln. Think he is on the Hub Enjoy!
  13. Thanks very much for the advise - much appreciated. Will keep a look out for the guys selling tickets...
