  1. We stayed there the evening before starting the ride and they had no issues with us leaving the car there for the next 3 days.
  2. Yeah, Southern suburbs preferably given that the other large retail options are in the north!
  3. The Garmin UI is one of the least intuitive I've ever experienced, it's really not you, it's just piss poor!
  4. Gravel bike on the road makes a lot of sense for the majority of SA cyclists. More relaxed setup, more confidence inspiring braking (let's not get sidetracked..), and the option to ride wider more comfortable tyres on often pothole strewn roads - that's for you non-Capies 😉 I currently own both an endurance road bike (2015 Cannondale Synapse carbon frame disc brake) and a gravel touring bike (Specialized Sequoia steel frame). In winter on the road I ride the gravel bike more than my road bike. The cheapy 35c road tyres deal far better with all the debris washed onto the verge than my more expensive 28c road tyres. I save my gravel tyres for actual gravel riding - second wheelset. I've definitely considered replacing both bikes with a lightweight carbon gravel bike, but at the moment there's no real benefit given that I currently have specific tools for specific outings. Only benefit would be more space to buy another bike 😆
  5. Throwing something slightly different into the mix....for some reason more relaxed geometry "endurance" road bike models were never popular in SA, if even available. This resulted in loads of people riding race geometry bikes who would've been far more comfortable, and possibly actually faster over longer distance, on a more relaxed setup. Then the gravel bike emerges...which in a large number of cases is just a more relaxed geometry road bike. People buy a gravel bike to be part of the new scene, start riding it and realise that they prefer it to riding their racy road setup. Very quickly the road bike gathers dust until it's eventually sold, along with the first gravel bike. This opens up the opportunity to buy a higher spec gravel bike and possibly an extra set of road wheels....
  6. Go watch Daryl Impey's daily videos, I think it gives a good idea of just how huge the gap is between a world tour pro and a middle of the pack Epic rider.
  7. Sounds like they're installing a pavement... let's hope it's not another Muizenberg - Kalk Bay scenario where an overly wide pavement results in the actual road width becoming tighter than necessary. Hopefully I'm wrong!
  8. I suggest you scroll back on this thread, all the relevant info has been shared previously.
  9. Share links to the ads. 105 is a higher spec than Tiagra, but that assumes they're same generation. Given that you're looking for a bike to just try out road cycling the RC2000 might be the better option purely because that's the one that looks better to you! Plus it's cheaper...
  10. The driver stopped, told my mate he didn't have his driver's licence on him, gave false details and then drove off when I said I wanted the cops on scene. I'm assuming by his bloodshot eyes & empty beer bottles in the car He wasn't sober. He drove into the Navy base, my mate followed him to security and asked them to confirm the details we'd been given. They checked and said the details were false but circulated a picture internally and came back a bit later stating they'd identified him & that he'd be called up by his commanding officer on the Monday. He then filed an accident report at the police station late the following day - I'm assuming this was after instructions from his c/o.
  11. I'm not convinced it'll help, but contact PPA and ask whether they can recommend/advise a legal route. When I got hit by a naval guy in Simonstown outside the police station a couple of years ago the station commander avoided all my attempts to contact him and try get charges laid. Eventually I had to focus on my recovery and just walked away. Never a good outcome but sometimes personal health needs to be the priority.
  12. Thought of that, but it wouldn't explain why any SkySport channel streamed via Kodi works with no interruptions. It's literally only the Eurosport channels that seem affected....i.e. only the one I want!
  13. Can only access DStv via the streaming app and can't seem to find 430. Am I missing something?
  14. I can watch any sport on Sky channels without any buffering issues so don't think it's related. Literally only Eurosport that's pausing every 20-30sec then continuing. But still trying to figure out this Kodi thing!
  15. Anyone successfully watching on Eurosport 2 via Kodi? I'm still have buffering issues ☚ī¸
