  1. The bike was found this morning! A hiker spotted it stashed in the bushes on the lower part of the mountain, near the shooting range I think. A bit scratched up and rusty with a flat front wheel, but otherwise it appears to be okay. A massive thank you to Matt the hiker for getting it back to me. You're a legend bru!
  2. I think that was one of the guys that robbed me. I spoke to someone from that group this morning. The descriptions and clothing match and the route he took matches what I saw on the tracking. I recon they probably dropped the bike off somewhere in Woodstock. I'm going to have more of a detailed look at the GPS data later and see if there was anywhere they stopped for a prolonged amount of time. Don't know if it'll amount to anything, but it's worth a try.
  3. Thanks, yeah, it's been a *** week, it happened around 09:15

  5. Gear Change in Mowbray has the ParkTool SW-7.2 in stock, I got one on Thursday and there were still a couple left of the shelf
  6. My super cheap and ugly solution: A bit of wood attached to the wall with coach screws, then tie down straps screwed into the plank with washers to hold them on. Bikes can swivel a bit on the straps and with the back wheels on the ground it doesn't put too much strain on the whole thing. The downside is you need pretty long arms to attach and detach the bikes. Had this up for a couple of years now with no catastrophic failures yet.
  7. Yeah, he told me to go the other way (back towards riverside center) and walked off towards Newlands stadium, got quite antsy when it took me a while to turn my bike around on the narrow bridge
  8. Got mugged on a pedestrian bridge next to the river in Rondebosch this morning by a dude with a gun. He just took my phone, don't think he saw my watch and fortunately wasn't interested in the bike It happened here: Always thought this section was relatively safe, it's like 250m away from the police station and normally has a fair bit of foot traffic. I've even taken the kids riding here.
  9. Looks like evobikes already have them in stock at R12995 https://www.evobikes.co.za/product/gx-eagle-axs-upgrade-kit/
