  1. Ja that's going to be bad for the paint in the long run. And you can get carwash soap dirt cheap at those 'soap factory' stores.
  2. The best and cheapest is the cheapest car wash shampoo you can find (without the wax). Sunlight is not made with paint in mind, where the car wash shampoo is.
  3. Stealing bikes is not cool. Stealing kids bikes is up there with the worst things ever. Strongs man.
  4. I race olympic distance and yes, it's more complicated than just going as hard as you can on the bike
  5. Me too, works very well. I use blackburn slick cages, never had a bottle pop out on my road or mtb. (Obviously no tri-bars on my mtb)
  6. Hi All, I'm flying Qantas to Aus. Do any of you clever okes have some experience with traveling your bike with Qantas? Any do's/dont's/tips are welcome. (I see I have a 30kg bagage limit, so it's going to be a stretch to pack the bike, tri gear & clothes within that weight) Thanks in advance. PS. I know it's a Friday, so can we stick to the topic at least until 15h00?
  7. Morning Hubbers, Calling on all the 'well traveled' amongst us. I've got a race coming up on the east coast of Aus, thus traveling from SA will invoke the inevitable jet lag. Obviously I want to perform at my best, thus I would like to mitigate the effects as mush as possible. Questions: 1. For those of you that have traveled to the east coast of Aus: a. When did the effects of the lag hit you? b. How long did it last? c. How many days before the race do you recommend to arrive in Aus, to be race ready? 2. Please post any successful precautions and/or remedies (including 'boererate') you have found to actually work to diminish the effects of jet lag. I thank you in advance
  8. If TYR was good enough for Chrissie Wellington, it should be good enough for you. I have one of those as well and it is all good.
  9. And FA is actually well priced for a quality tri suit. I have the bottoms and it compares very well with Orca.
  10. Clubs mostly. The club scene is expanding rapidly with schoolkids also using clubs to extend the season of their chosen sport(s)
  11. So is the fear that since homeschoolers have more time to train, they will have an unfair advantage? Like the kids with the R100K bikes? Or the women with too high testosterone counts?
  12. IMHO, you can't go wrong with Shimano. They have served me very well on my road and mtb. Also, I read somewhere you are supposed to service them every so often. I have the same set of SPDs on my 1st MTB, now passed onto my son, never serviced and going strong for 7+ years. (and I've taken my share of tumbles and hit quite a few rocks with the pedals and bar a few scratches, they are good as new)
