  1. I saw 'Morzine' in the heading and thought I recognised that from somewhere. Then realised I'd cycled through it last Summer. Such an epic area. I was camping in Samoens which was pretty cheap and not too far from Morzine. https://www.strava.com/activities/9633447594
  2. My question really is...of those factors that influence the count, from what I read, they affect the count by maximum of say 10%, unless I understood incorrectly. So even if the level has been increased by 10% by other factors, it's still an abnormal level for somebody in their forties. 3.5 is verging on the abnormal level for someone in their 60's even.
  3. I'm 43 years old, probably in best shape of my life, don't smoke, seldom drink and exercise daily. Last week I had a PSA test and the Doc called me on Monday saying my PSA level was at 3.5, which is elevated, especially for a person my age. He gave me the option of either booking a MRI scan, or waiting 6 weeks and doing another PSA test. I initially opted to do another PSA test but after reading up about PSA I wasn't sure if any factors (such as cycling, or a DRE the doc did just before the blood samples were taken) that may cause some variability in results would have caused that much of a deviation, so I called back and booked the MRI, which the soonest date available was in 2 weeks time. Just trying to prepare myself for the worst, but also try to gauge how likely a PSA level of 3.5 is of being cancer (I have two weeks to kill, while trying to not freak out!). I called my dad to ask him if he knew his PSA level and it was less than 1, so I don't think prostate cancer is in the genes. Would appreciate any insight, thanks!
  4. Ag it was nothing major, just I thought the cyclist was being a dick and in a moment of weakness I reacted and then the cyclist overreacted to my reaction. Totally avoidable and unnecessary and I felt bad for causing bad vibes so I wanted to apologise to make things right in the world again. I pictured the guy getting home in a bad mood, snapping at the wife and kicking the dog and felt bad about that 😅
  5. If you or a buddy of yours had words with an @sshole runner this evening while cycling up Big Bay hill, please get in touch. I was that @sshole runner and would like to buy you a beer or at least apologise!
  6. JB, I did the MTB once, looks like exactly same route... https://www.strava.com/activities/2800115644 ...was lekker
  7. Hi, this is a long shot, but I'm in Belgium for just over a month and trying to find a small / medium framed road bike to rent for the time I'm here, not worried about it being carbon or high spec, but more that I could find a bike for a decent price for longer term rental (super expensive to rent at a day rate). If anyone is in Belgium (Brussels), know's somebody in Brussels or knows where I may find such a rental, I'd really appreciate the advice! Many Thanks!
  8. I'm not sure a 3x front deraileur would work with a 2x shifter. But I second that suggestion to call Woodstock Cycles. Nils will always make a plan for you.
  9. I'm looking for a derailleur hanger for a 2009 Scott Addict. Any 2nd hand or which shop to get it in Cape Town? Many Thanks!
  10. So you're cruising along on your own, then next minute you look back and there's a stranger sitting on your wheel. Now you need to worry about this person every time you get in or out of the saddle, go around a pothole etc. Are you responsible for pointing out obstacles on the road now? And when you look over your shoulder to check for traffic, is this guy blocking you from seeing traffic? And then after he's sat on your wheel silently for the last few minutes, sprints past you to beat you to the top of the hill, as if you were even racing in the first place. Can be irritating having random strangers sitting on your wheel.
  11. When I say replace, i was referring to just the plastic body / cover
  12. I lost the battery cover to my stages power meter yesterday due to the locking mechanism on the housing being broken, exactly like this guys in this video... Does anyone know if there is a place in Cape Town that can fix / replace it?
  13. If there's a crash within 3km of the finish line, all riders caught up in the crash get the same time as peleton
  14. I had an accident yesterday, ended up almost doing the splits with my back leg bent and knee twisted laterally. It hurt but I walked it off and it was Ok for most of the day but got more stiff and sore towards the end of the day. After consulting Dr Google, it definitely sounds like a MCL sprain or tear and I'm just trying to ascertain whether it's bad enough to go to a doc or whether ice and rest will sort it out. It's not bruised at all and only very slightly swollen and I can put full body weight on the leg without a problem but it does hurt to bend or straighten the leg. Pain is very localised to the MCL. Anybody that's had MCL sprains and / or tears, does that sound like a sprain, grade 1 or 2 tear?
  15. Can you get a covid test at registration, and if so, how much is it? Starting to get a little FOMO.
