  1. ...me please, can I also come. This is the only time I can ride my bike and not get left behind, like most my races If you feel we need marshals, I can also marshal, and if we need a back-up bus, I can also ask Gary to help.
  2. I had a really **** race... the goody bag would've been the cherry I needed
  3. Is it a Toyota, Double Cab, vvti ?
  4. Eish, jammer Oom. Ek het heeltemal vergeet van daai dag. Dis hoekom Oom so bekend gelyk het. Dit sal nie weer gebeur nie. Nie te sleg vir a porra. Don't know when last I wrote in Afrikaans.
  5. Hey, Oom H, were you there at about 11 or 11:30? I am sure it was you (haven't met you before, but have seen some pics), your wife had a pink top on. I was in the queue in the passage and saw you go back and forth. I also saw the "eye candy" help you. She was running up and down, helping who she could. She was the only one really being pro-active. I wanted to say high, but wasn't sure if it was you.
  6. I hate moaning , but I will have to agree with you on this one. The queue for late entries was a joke. I stood in it for about 40 mins, and I saw 2 people leave in that time. Organizers are worried about low numbers, but when they have customers at their doorstep, they don't bother serving! The guy behind me also had the same problem I did on the net. "Transaction Declined". I blamed myself, thinking my card had expired (01/09), but it actually only expires at the end of the month. His wasn't near expiring anyway, but the same error. So in the end of the day, they had a problem with checkout on the net, mad us wait longer than what everyone thought was fair and got charged extra. Let the race run smoothly, and I will have forgotten about this by Sun afternoon
  7. I am the "Pantani" (le style man) of pocketbikes, I even had a set of carbons fibre fairings made for mine. The braided hose are for a customer, I am now way too old to adjust my riding style to these hydraulic anchors. I don't know how the MTB riders ride with 4 and 6 pots. Our bikes are heavier, only run a 160mm disks and we are much lower to the ground, yet, just touch the brake lever and the bike's rear end wants to overtake the nose. These brakes are not for the R2000 cheapies (altough that's where evryone starts racing due to it's costs), these are for the R40 000, hand built Italian race bikes. Most of the owners spend money adding some bling. The diameter of the braided socks and the big bike hoses, are to large. I have a braided hose from my ex motorcycle, but the hose would not fit our fittings, and it's fittings won't fit the caliper or lever. Thanks to all who took the time to respond. I have a couple of pm's and a phone call, so I am sure I will come right. If and when I do, I will post who, how and pics. Pocketbikes2009-01-19 03:13:04
  8. KDEE is the winner It's for a Pocketbike. We bought the Hope 6 pot from the hub, but now need to bling it out with braided hoses. I agree on keeping stock due to costs etc, but today is 3 weeks since they were handed in. If they had just told me "leave them here and we will not contact you for 3 weeks", I would've imported a kit (like this) from CRC. The owner of the bike wasn't too worried about costs, so I thought I would support local.... ya right. Now it's a case of too late to import, so I am looking for another shop/supplier to hand the business to.
  9. I would. I have seen the kits, online, that have all the fittings etc, but haven't seen any local kits for sale. It's for an Avid 5, brand new, just want to change it to braided and make it a bit shorter.
  10. Does anybody know where I can have a set of braided hoses made up. We handed in a brake master and a caliper to a bike shop on Monday 5th, with a description of what we wanted done, braided hose, length etc. We were told we could expect it on the Thursday. That came and went, no calls we had to call them. Till to date, we have not received a call from them, but we have called them 4 times and still have no idea when we will get it back. If someone could recommend a place with some service, I would like to go collect the brake and take it to them.
  11. I think it was the 705, as he was talking about maps. Porky. your a wise man. Canceling will just in-grave 4 weeks of bad service and no one wins. Avnic still has their unit to sell to someone else, but you've lost money on phone calls, fuel and bank charges. You obviously did your homework before the purchase and decided on the Garmin... I would also see what they could do for me. It is your choice in the end of the day
  12. I am with porky, on this one. I really doubt it's a stock issue, although I may be wrong. I also feel as if their is another problem somewhere. I feel it's a little unfair to take Avnic to task without hearing from their side. I would contact Jason on Monday (2 more days), and see what he has to say. Get your refund in the mean time, but contact Jason anyway, and find out what he can do for you. I have put my *0*& on the block before, on another post, and I am still a happy man. Honestly, I think you will be surprised with Jason's actions. Give it a try. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=28610&KW=muxman+garmin+avnic&PN=7 https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=29637&KW=muxman+garmin+avnic&PN=1 Pocketbikes2009-01-02 14:37:55
  13. Contact Jason at Garmin. He is a hubber under the name "Garmin" and here is a link to his details https://www.bikehub.co.za/member_profile.asp?PF=3918 I think he is away, as he was last online on the 22 dec. His direct number at the office is 0112519993 or switchboard 0112519999. Jason is the sales director, and he will sort your problem out, he is not the type to 'pass the buck'.
  14. Sounds like me, last year (my very first and second race) Pocketbikes2008-12-27 17:11:14
