  1. I purchase my bibs from this store. Excellent, competitive prices, excellent bibs, excellent service. To be honest, I only look at the price I have to pay and not at anything else because that is all that really matters to me. I would highly recommend their bibs, which I always buy one size up. Ciao.
  2. Hi. I would prefer not to say... don't want to tarnish anyone's reputation... Rather, just want to highly recommend cSixx chainrings! However, it happened to me on two or three occasions so I can assure you the story is true. Ciao.
  3. Hi. Was looking for a place to do this review and thought this was the best thread - even if it hasn't been used in a while! I had been running a 30T chainring from another supplier but, every time I had to change the chain (at about 50% use according to the chain checker), I had to also change the chainring... It was becoming a bit expensive so decided to give cSixx chainrings a go (bought and fitted a 34T chainring). I have just had to change the chain and, with some trepidation, took the bike out for a ride to see if I would need to change the chainring and... no issue, chainring still perfect! Therefore, it seems that cSixx chainrings (from my first experience of them) are probably quite hard wearing and can last more than one chain. Thus, a big thumbs up from me in the longevity department - when necessary, I would buy cSixx chainrings again (and recommend them to others). Ciao.
  4. To be honest it looks like it has just sheared off. And, continuing with the honesty, I think I am going to just replace the hub with the help of my local bicycle repairer. Ciao.
  5. I have had a closer look, it seems that it may be to do with the design of the cassette as there is what I would term a manufactured and distinct step down in those specific areas that is totally different from other areas of the cassette. And that step down causes the adjacent area to be relatively free of lubricant.
  6. Morne and DR, interesting observations but honestly not sure... I will need to check!
  7. Unfortunately I couldn't just stop, pick up the bike and walk home (substantial electrical storm had just started too)... So there was some riding that was done before I figured out what was going on (first time I have experienced it) or could do anything.
  8. Hi. It was a QR through axle on a Rapide hub. Running as I normally do and have done in the past, not too tight or loose, etc. Two photos are now attached. Cheers.
  9. Hi Nick. I have tried this morning and it is clear that warranty replacement, etc. is not an option with Rapide. Therefore, suck it up and proceed is what I am going to do. Thanks.
  10. Hi. I am not too sure to be honest. I contacted Rapide first thing this morning and as a result of those discussions, I am relaying my particular outcome. Thanks.
  11. Hi. The wheel, including all components, was bought new last year, i.e. May 2019. As mentioned, it wasn't really ridden for quite some time except recently (last two months or so for about 2-4 hours a week). I think I may just be unlucky this time because it seems that the Rapide wheels, hubs, etc. are usually bullet proof. And Rapide have made it quite clear that it is something that happens, i.e. it is a wear an tear item, and I can repair it myself if I want to. Cheers.
  12. Funny you should mention this, my Gamin 500 did the same thing recently but was caused by water after riding two days in the rain. However, I bought it many years ago and it has been really great so I just retired it and replaced it with a new Garmin 130, which is actually a great upgrade for me. As for the 500 it had two rides that I really wanted to download but couldn't. I kept trying and the other day, it decided to connect! I quickly downloaded the ride, said a prayer of thanks, and retired the 500 gracefully :-) Cheers.
  13. Hi everyone. This is posted here because it seemed most appropriate to me... Just to give both sides of the story - I bought a rear wheel from Rapide last year (2019) when I needed an additional wheel mainly because of their excellent service and value (as experienced by me personally and many others). I haven't used the wheel much until recently because I wasn't using the bike that it was on. However, yesterday after riding the bike again for about 2 months (2 to 3 times a week for between 1 to 2 hours at a time), the axle broke and this resulted in me getting stuck out during an evening ride. I contacted Wayne first thing this morning to see what could be done. Because it is a wear and tear item, he referred me to their website for a replacement axle which, as with most Rapide components, is very reasonably priced. In a nutshell though, there is nothing further that Rapide can do for me from a warranty point of view. The thing is, I have never had this happen before in forty plus years of riding bicycles (I guess I am just lucky perhaps). Unfortunately for other brands, my previous American Classics were awesome (e.g. light and strong) and gave no problems at all... Wayne has mentioned, in the previous five years, he has had two previous axles break like this. Now however, I am weary to go the Rapide new wheel or repair this wheel route, although I do understand this could happen to other manufacturers, even American Classic. Thus, this can happen, even to a Rapide product. And, if it does happen, just know that it is a wear and tear item and any repairs will be for your expense (and any resultant frame damage - my chain came off and scratched my new frame which is hard to swallow for me - is my problem too...). Ciao. PS. I will post photo's later if anyone is interested in seeing them (large photo's, need editing before posting, limited time now, etc.).
  14. I also waited for a quote for quite a while from BA but did eventually get an email reply to apologise for the slow response and ask if I still required assistance. Appreciated that and the fact that they explained they were very busy and thus very delayed in responding because of Covid. However, first getting quote and then ordering - not your standard online business model and thus also quite hard to understand. However, Evobikes on the other hand - top rate service every time. Also, I personally have not yet had a bad CWC experience...
  15. Hi. The NX is a boost frame, and came in 1*12 form. I like the NX 1*12 and have not had any problems with it. The bike has the Manitou fork which works as well as anything else I have ridden. I have ridden Giant bikes in the past and the Merida is just as good as those. Thus I have no problem recommending them to others. Hope that helps.
