  1. Hi, Does this Shimano XTR double chainset come in the 175mm chain arm length? https://www.evobikes.co.za/black-friday-sale/shimano-xtr-race-m9000-11-speed-double-chainset.html
  2. No, no don't allow hunters to hunt humans because then they will turn on us the weak, poor and... Let them play a game among themselves where they start hunting "trophy hunters".
  3. My cycling shirt has three back pockets that I use. The middle one for my phone in a plastic bag. The two side ones for gels & food. Whenever I empty a gel I put it in the centre/middle pocket as my bin with no chance of digging again in that rubbish bin for another gel - only rubbish. With that I never dropped an empty gel sachet by accident.

Nice way of saying it. Like your flirting with pain mentality. All the best. Koen
  5. Correct, but you also pay R540 for the second lap. At least you did two laps for all the traveling cost. Better value for money. I paid 50euro this year to cycle over 190km in the "CYCLO RONDE VAN VLAANDEREN" in Belgium. We pay too much in SA.
  6. Almost entered then noticed the starting time will be 21h00 Saturday evening for the 199km distance. Correct me if I am wrong but this makes it is 80% plus night ride. What is the point to do this race at night? Pity you do all the distance without appreciating the scenery. Would love to start Saturday morning at 6h00 and finish before dark.

  8. Where did you park at the 947? I had to cross the gravel parking area towards the start.
  9. The 2017 Satellite race is on the 14th October and reseeding needs to be done before 12th. (see below) "The reseed process allows for results (post-seeding) to be considered prior to the finalisation of the number allocation. Reseeds may be applied for between 3 - 12 October 2017 @ 13h00 and are awarded at the discretion of the Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge seeding committee, at a cost of R150. To apply email cyclechallenge@947.co.za"
  10. As quoted in the review: "The highlight of the shoe is the Boa system for fastening and release. ....... Despite its fragile appearance, the Boa wire is robust, and the system is backed by a lifetime guarantee." I have two pairs of S-Works 2011 mtb shoes with both operating on these fastening devices. (bought the second pair because of lack in spares at my LBS. Everything is replaceable on them but they rather force you to buy new ones.) The inner wheels wear out and then you struggle to get replacement spares. Even got the story by one LBS that it is time to replace the shoe because they don't keep stock when shoe is older than 5 years. So keep in mind that you need to maintain/replace these fasteners @+-R110 per single wheel at intervals.
  11. How would the FATBOY tyre bikes do in that terrain? Nice in sand but what about possibility of cuts in rocky areas?
