  1. They just need to give it a sand blasted type finish Momsen logo, do it right and it won't add weight and people would know it's a Momsen and it would be beautiful!!! Anyone need a kidney?
  2. And how many of these bikes are bought on loans? Know of a Specialized shop that had to order even more stock for this year alone cause the bikes are flying due to the new loan company ( http://www.bikelife.co.za/ ) on the market. Hard to believe that anyone can buy bikes like these cash. Even a 30k - 50k bike cash is a hard reach.
  3. Spezz are nice bikes, just sickly priced for the same return one can get with a lost less $$ from other brands with the same quality. Absolutely crazy to think of spending R130k on a bike.
  4. And Nino is still the best on a Scott that you can get for half the price.
  5. This is easy, similar question to consider, do tattoo's hurt, yes. Does the route have technical sections, yes. If you see three arrows showing down head up bum back and hold on.
  6. 1kg, maybe 2kg for when there is a lot of big hills on race day .....

  8. At the last Hakahana I had broken away from the guys I had been riding with from almost the start to go for a strong finish alone and try make up a few places in the last 5km or so. Well, the break away was good and I started hauling in quite a large group which meant better SASeeding for 2014 (yay) if I could pull in a few more places. So I pulled all the pace I could managed, passed the group reasonably easy and kept on my crazy pace on a flat, straight single track, note flat ......... a simple round flat rock that lay in my path that a 16" wouldn't struggle to roll over with ease, ended my reckless pace with a gentle twist to my handle bars with a laps of concentration. I ended up doing a half pirouette to bum slide tuck and finished the move off with a whip lash to the rear of my thinking side back flip into the dirt a few meters off to the right and the bike off to the left like a bucking bronco pony. Needless to say I got all the "Are you alright?" through more laugh than concern and all my hard effort and ego lay on that single track and part of my helmet. Note to self ....... rubber side down, thinking side up ........... Safe riding
  9. I'm seeded A for the marathon. Gonna be nuts on the climbing the way the hubbers are going on.
  10. Man, everything there except the dodgey tan one gets from hours on the bike.
  11. Well all this ranting and raving you guys have forgotten about the cost of just training for an event like this. If one wants to do well for this event I'm sure that a new drive train or 2 and a set of tyres will be the minimum of what one will use before you've even seen the start line. Let a lone a shock service. So 3-4k just on spares, eina. Then the time it takes to train properly, time off to do the race. Mmmmmm IT COST A **** LOAD!!!!! Sorry but I'm one of those people that has the legs to do a race like this but in real terms of just pure money it is quite unlikely I'll ever. Training 10-12 hours a week doesn't just happen it takes commitment. How much would it realy cost if one did your own catering and, yes, camped? R100-R200/ night (did a quick google +-) And what you eat is up to you. Ok maybe there should be more stage races self catering but that won't atract the BIG corporates or sponsors. So us little fish are screwed. Maybe when we are all grown up we can do it.
