  1. Hi patches. Sorry for hijacking the post. I am also travelling to NZ end of the year and will be bringing my mtb over as we are immigrating there as well. Would you say the cardboard box is the way to go for travel or would you suggest maybe getting a bike bag that is nicely padded to travel. I personally don't have the skills tom rebuild my bike that side on my own so will have to go to a shop to get that sorted, extra cost, but if the cardboard is the way to go then by all means. I just want my bike to travel safe and come out the other side in one piece. Cheers
  2. This is an old scammer that has changed names. He is on the scammer forum as well under different names. Always wanting to buy for his cousin and works on an oil rig. If you ever seen anything like this again, stay far far far away and report it to @bikehub immediately.
  3. If you like "tech" and have a little bit of bucks to spend look at Livall. They have some nice kids helmets with flashing lights in which is quite cool. https://livall.co.za/ Velotex in Cape Town sell them as well 0214479973.

  5. Just got a whatsapp message reading: "I am interested in buying the bike. Kindly get back to me via email at goodhearted@gmail.com waiting to hear from you soon. This is the same guy. I don't even have a bike for sale on the hub. Selling a set of wheels. Please block this guy @bikehub!
  6. Last night I literally got the same message from the same person as the above. Everything even your wording here above is exactly the same. Posted a road bike on the bub, facebook and gumtree. This sounded dodgy so looked this up and found this wonderful article that all you guys have contributed to to date. Thanks allot for this guys. Will block this Mother F**** immediately.
  7. Hi samson99. do you have a route you can share? Would like to see how you travel that way? Want to start commuting next month if all goes well.
  8. Any commuters from Durbanville area to Paarden Eiland/Maitland/Woodstock/Observatory/CPT?
  9. Hi All I am in urgent need of threaded nipples for my Easton EA90 XC 29"wheelset. These nipples have thread on the outside so that they can be turned into the rim itself. I am in Cape Town area and if anybody know where I can find these, please don let me know. Thanks so much!!
  10. Geco Cycles close to Cape Gate had Mavic shoes. Dont know if they still stocke them.
  11. Will definitely enter this comp. Already have my first pair of socks, and they are great!!! Need some more... Keep up the good work "The Cyclist Co"
  12. http://www.velotex.com 021 447 9973 They are based in Observatory and you can do some online designs on their web page.
  13. In my case it is usually one of two things when that creeking noises makes a appearance. The BB might be dry. Take it the crank off the bike, clean it and grease it where necessary, same goes for the bb cups etc. If the noise is still there, it will probably be your freebody of your rear wheel. Take the cassette off, clean it, remoce freebody and bearings inside. Feel the bearings, if they dont run smooth its them most of the time. If not, clean then, lube and grease the freebody where necessary and that should solve your creeking issue. If not, then it might be your skewer.
  14. Thanks for sharing! I currently run a 30T hope and it's still in pretty good shape so that will do.
  15. Sjoe, quite a detailed description here, well done and thanks! Would you say 32T gear ratio would be better or can I stick with 30T?
