  1. Ouch! Please tell me they at least had what you wanted in the end?
  2. I hear they have a pump track. Anyone got pics?
  3. 1. How does this explain their continued partnership with Bridge Cycles then? 2. Specialized apparently have strict policies and hefty fees. From this perceptive, I bet it's not always the most attractive agency for shop owners. Perhaps Olympic did the rejecting. As I do most of my own work on my bikes, I appreciate Olympic Cycles' huge stock. They usually have what I'm looking for when other bike shops have failed me.
  4. But then you have to ride a Spez Brand banter aside, if Patrick's description is accurate, then the Ninetyfive29c should be a different design philosophy to S-works. Are they really comparable? I'm not totally clued up on Spez.
  5. As the front wheel/ brake deals with steering and takes my forward momentum under braking, I like to have it controlled by my dominant hand. It really matters on steep technical single track, dirt roadies can probably get away with any setup though.
  6. Here's the theory, for what it's worth. Overtaking a group is quicker than a long line, meaning the overtaking vehicle is in the oncoming lane for a shorter period. But this does mean that cyclists need to be considered as deserving as cars to hold the lane and therefore overtaken correctly by cars leaving the lane, not seen as an obstacle to squeezed past in the same lane or half the lane. Yes, an inconvenience to motorists who wouldn't be able to squeeze past dangerously and we all know how we as motorists hate being made to travel anything but the exact speed limit, so it'll never happen. So the gutter it is http://www.amkcustom.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/twoup.jpg
  7. Very much so. But then again, I believe that most terrain is rideable on hardtail of any wheel size.

    O2 hubs?

Sorry, I only had the link (which I got from Google). Didn't keep a copy of the catalogue. Update: My O2 front hub that I referred to in April is still going strong.
  9. Aside from the complete exploitation of cyclists for no visible return, the state of the mountain is an absolute disgrace. The new access road, renovation of offices and new coffee shop should be low on the list of priorties when you have a mountain full of invasive species, especially as a lack of funds is cited as the reason that nothing is being done about it.
  10. You can always go out and get a real hardtail, one made from steel
  11. Also the On One forks: http://www.on-one.co.uk/c/q/components/forks-and-shocks/rigid-forks Any development on them no longer shipping to SA?
  12. Is this Santa Cruz test somewhat misleading? While it does show off the excellence of carbon where the frame is desinged to take force (even the final concrete block hammering). It doesn't really test the random crash scenario, where many carbon whoopsies happen. What do you think the result would have been if they hammered a chainstay on a complete bike laterally against that concrete block?
  13. OK, make the Men's 30-40 or 40-50 in the 45km distance the new Men's Elite
  14. I run Hope hubs on my Spank Oozy rims. I really like them! The distributors also now stock full Spank wheel sets.
  15. I'm in. Hope it's as rough as it looks. Looking forward to a bit of a challenge.
