  1. Slacker head angle and a dropper post for skills. Skills improved remarkably even back on an XC bike.
  2. This seems to be the best idea from a technical perspective. I have however swapped my Alfine brakes without problem and installed a brand new SLX master cylinder without bleeding. Sometimes you are lucky. Maybe also let them stand a while after swapping to let the air migrate to the top and hopefully into the reservoir. You have nothing to lose. If it needs a bleed, take it to a shop. If it does not, you have saved yourself a few Bob and learned something.
  3. Think they are one and the same. Should go there where the cable enters the derailleur. I would personally use the one with the long pointy bit.
  4. No proof though but I suspect it might be the latex. All my Roval wheels had the same problem and then spokes started popping one by one. Maybe give it a squirt of WD40, stick on some new rim tape and hope for the best. Some of the spokes on my front wheel had to get cut off as the nipple seized on the spoke when I tried to replace all the nipples with brass ones.
  5. If I had to choose between Fox and Dakine, I would choose Ion. Had Dakines, but the where heavy and never dried on subsequent bike touring days. The new Ion shorts are amazing IMHO Think the model range is called surfing elements. It will even double up as a board short.
  6. Tip the nose down more. You then need to find a good compromise between too much pressure on your hands and a sore crotch. Before spending money on different saddles I would try and get a good position on the existing one. Also I think the black one would be the easiest set up. I think the curvature of the white one could make it more difficult to find a comfortable position with the rise in the nose.
  7. Some bleed and some don't. It will seal eventually. Just make sure the sealant is topped up again once it holds pressure. That said, there is a huge difference between a UST tire and a tubeless ready tire. The UST should seal no problems where as the TL ready might need a bit of sealant to seal the sidewalls. Just to compare a Fastrack UST 29x2.0 weighs 875g and a TL ready weighs 580g. I can only think that the weight goes into extra sidewall rubber to make it stronger and thus make it seal better too.
  8. If you look at a lot of the aero helmets they are round in front. Rounder is more aero......
  9. Come now RM. How can you blame a little piece of paper for the stuffups of the government. It almost sounds like you are canvassing for a job in government. Blame someone else is the motto there. ????
  10. Not really sure what you base your DT Swiss hatred on, but I am running these hubs on 2 of my bikes and they are running hassle free. IMHO the best and simplest hassle free freebody around. As for the Scotts they usually run Syncros components and hubs made by DT Swiss on some occasions, however the parts are not compatible with DT Swiss. For the OP. I would get the Merida. The brand is huge and in the past offered good value for money. Be careful though about the price you pay. It should be discounted substantially as it is probably specced with the old XT, as all the 2016 bikes come out with the newer groupset.
  11. For XC i run the following. In the wet I run Nobby Nic front and Rocket Ron back. In the dry I run the Ron in front and a Ralph in the back. Don't know about the new Nic yet, it seems a little chunky for the an XC front.
  12. I have a 143 Phenom on my Spez Epic. It came with it but was also the recommended saddle by the Assometer. I also have a Fizik Arione on both my Giant XTC and my Roadbike and have no problems. Just the bike setup is slightly trickier when you want to copy from the Spez model as the Arione is slightly longer.
  13. Everything is an upgrade from Rovals if you weigh more than 80kg. I have destroyed 2 sets and I weigh 95kg. I also don't use brakes going downhill. Brake pads are expensive.
  14. Ag tog. Just enjoy the show for what it is. There is no skin of your backs whether they dope or not. It's for them to be clean or not to be caught. Sit back, grab a beer and enjoy the show. Or just watch Bold and the Beautiful or 7de Laan, it's on att more or less the same time if you feel you are being deceived or if your feelings are getting hurt. I for one really did not give a s**t whether LA, MP or JU doped or not, that's their legacy to live with. The racing was amazing to watch and I for one enjoyed watching it. All the same now. The racing is amazing to watch, just enjoy it and stop all this speculating about doping. You guys are just ruining the spectacle for yourself and everyone else.
