  1. I've got an entry, unfortunately I can't ride. Entered 72Km, but can substitute to another distance. 0829438942
  2. Extreame lights are tops, with fantastic backup service, had issue with bracket replaced it immediately. Was also happy with my Magic Lights, also good. Just beware of "cheaper" lights, yes unit (light) may be the same but they cut costs with cheap batteries. especially for night MTB, get as MUCH light as possible. & suggest mount light on helmet so light is where you are looking & not where bike is pointing.. Some run a broad beam on bike & spot on helmet..
  3. Yes, correct Suikerbos closed as previously guys mentioned. I also confirmed with my boss as he hikes there every Sunday, so unfortunately yet another place been stuffed up by incompetent officials..
  4. Profiles 50Km.. http://www.strava.com/activities/178678333 http://www.brytonsport.com/mapTrackView/2?id=6063417
  5. Also found it tough, did not enjoy route, Heia Safari have some pointless tracks, not very well build/designed more about trying to cram in as much single track into a small area, than having quality single track. Besides $#@ parts of route, plus points to floating bridge, venue, organization, food, etc, etc, top marks for that. oh and close encounter with Zebra & herd of Wildebeest made it interesting.. I'll load profile shortly.
  6. Messaged CGC and EPR organisers haven't been in contact or registered date.. So don't see event happening, pity was a good event
  7. on a good year, weather been almost perfect only C, D and mybe E get sub 3, can check past results.
  8. Agree about Seeding been a stuff up!!!!! Argus has given me VA seeding for last 4-5 years, (granted a bit high & not licenced) but every year they tell me my seeding is 100% correct!!! 94.7 last year got VB seeding. Now in F???? So much for busting my balls from beginning Dec to have a fantastic 10th Argus…

  10. Water/muddy sections Start/finish crossing river 10/30/60 (will open up area to drain & have conveyor belts down as well) Serengeti Dam - small crossing (out for 10/30/60 - return for 10/60) River "Reed" neighbors @6.5Km- 30/60-out, @49km -60 back - (water very low) - ground hard packed @ 10Km (30/60-out) MUD bath last year - so far all dry @ 11km - under road - Dunblane (30/60-out) & 30km(30-back) - not bad, will be putting boards down. @ 44km-60 & 22.5Km-30 - down railway up to WP2 - ok, got pallets if needed (60km (mud just after WP2) down power lines, - last was all filled in, all fine) Then 60km back through "reeds" / over dam & river @ Start/Finish 30Km back under road & river @ Start/Finish. So all looking good, will give finial update after I finish marking course 2mrw. 11. Yes 1st priority of day.. I take full responsibility for last year, was a rookie mistake, & unfortunately one idiot stuff race up @ a crucial point. USN @ Red barn had same thing a few months later..
  12. Ask race organisers 'info@thefastone.org' to send mail out to all..
  13. Besides suffering in race, which was all good. @ food tent, I caught leg on one of the stakes for marquee tent, sliced leg open, and 8 stitches later, p&%#@ off at that, very unsafe!!! No caps on stakes, monkeys that put up tent..
  14. There were still a few guys ahead from original break that went before Suikerbos.
  15. Route for those interested. MTB - 10Km Route: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/349115491 Inside Serengeti. MTB - 30Km Route: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/349126703 (just over 30Km) MTB - 60Km Route: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/349545207 (just under 60Km) Basically same as last year Feb & Sep. 30/60 - First bit same then split, @ WP1, 60Km dose section, then race comes together for short bit, before @ WP2, again split to keep routes separate. Hope u all enjoy..
