  1. I was fortunate enough to ride Adventure, now Chardonnay, in 2015, 16, 17, 18 and the wet 2019. One was terribly windy on day 1, serious heat on another, but always so enjoyable. I’m one of those guys that just enjoys it it all and appreciate just not being at work, but riding my bike with likeminded people. Can’t say I’ve noticed too much different. Just ride, smile, suffer up Kat Pas, and enjoy a cold one after it all, and the banter, just love that!
  2. That’s the plan. Bought a cassette and two chains, new, from a guy on The Hub about 6 months ago, but I’m going to ride this for as long as possible. Shifting etc still all good.
  3. I’m on 7 544 km on GX cassette. Been rotating 2 gx chains, every month, and even though both chains are passed the 0.5 mark, no slipping at all.
  4. Sorry, a little off topic. I’m on a 34 oval at the moment and considering a 34 round when this one is worn. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m not convinced an oval makes any real difference. Your experience please?

  6. I just saw this on Cycling News. Interesting to see the developments? Your thoughts?
  7. Doing Chardonnay, 5th, seen all sorts of weather conditions, 42C last year day 2, then the fire scare Pinotage Enjoyed every single one of them. Head winds and squalls of rain day. 3, 2016, I think. I have NEVER climbed more than 1500m a week in training, C and D batch mostly. Let’s hope for fine weather and we know we’ll have fine wine, in 2019. All the best to all trainees . We’ll suffer together soon
  8. Victor has emigrated to Aussie. Who knows what will happen to the brand?
  9. Hope you don’t fall again with a plate already in. My doc recommended to remove. Glad I did!
  10. Been soaking my my mtb chains in paraffin, dry, then wet lube, wipe clean, then squirt for about 10 years. Works like a dream, for me.
  11. Broke my left clavicle in 2010, plate in with 10 screws. Plate out in 2011, still quite a painful experience. Broke the right in 2012, plate out in 2013. Yip, I lack talent, but the advice I was given was to get it out. Doc just said that if I would ever fall with the plate in, to go to any other Orthopod but him! Just imagine the damage the screws and the plate could do. Med Aid paid for the lot.
  12. Let's keep it about Giant, chaps. I ride an Anthem too, love it. More Toyota Hilux 4x4, than Corolla.
