  1. OK Hubbers, please assist/educate. I'm running a standard 29” Hope/Arch-EX wheelset. The Stans ZTR website give the inside diameter (I.D.) for the Arch-EX rims as 21mm (pic attached). So with all the hype surrounding wider rims, I’m thinking of upgrading the Arch-EX rims to something wider. I’ve always been a fan of Stans rims, and the new Arch MK3 rims has an I.D. of 26mm. I got the following statement from the www: “Rim width should match tyre volume. If you are running a large volume tyre, a 30mm internal rim width provides an optimal tyre profile. For lower volume trail tyres 24mm and 27mm internal rim widths provide ideal balance between tyre shape and wheel weight.” It makes sense to put a higher volume tyre on a wider rim. What is defined as a large volume tyre, or lower volume tyre? My current tyres are 2.2”, and I’ve never ran wider tyres. So, do I go for wider I.D. rims for future upgradability if I want to run wider tyres in the future? Will it work to mount a 2.2” tyres on a 30mm or 27mm I.D. rim? What rim I.D. will give the optimal tyre profile for a 2.2” tyre? Another pic added for illustration. Is wider always better?
  2. TX for the speedy replies. Highly appreciated. If it is only tool free adjustment (and additional point and contact adjustment) on the Tech 3's.....I'm going to stick with my Race Evo - E4 combo. Will still think about the braided vs plastic hoses. Do agree the braided ones does look nice!
  3. Any hubbers that can share some technical info regarding Hope brakes? What are the main differences between the Tech 3 and Race Evo master cylinders? Which are the better (stronger) option? I have a set of Hope Race Evo levers (master cylinders) linked to a set of new E4 calipers. Was on the X2 calipers for a year now....decided to upgrade the X2 to E4 calipers. Is it worth upgrading to the Tech 3 levers? Also, what is the main benefit of braided hose vs the plastic ones?
  4. Asics is also my brand of choice, and I prefer the Kayano model.
  5. @chris..... I've got the same issue. Only right knee. Got a bike fit done already (Rethul). It is an alignment issue for me....moved my cleats as well. During the fit they highlighted the fact that whilst pedaling my right knee tends to move outwards (to the right). Your knees must stay relatively close to the top tube while pedaling. Hope you come right.
  6. My order was in at 7:57 this morning......
  7. Hubbers, Any technical info on what are the main differences between the Shimano FC-M615 and FC-M625 cranksets (2x10)? I've tried the Shimano website, but differences are very vague. Cheers.
  8. Thomson.....the best thing since sliced bread....
  9. There soon going to be a lot of "old" Sparks in the classifieds.....
  10. While my order is pending..... How about a SLX 11-36 cassette?
