  1. Lezyne have great lights i use 2 x 1100 lights Properly bright and good shape of light pattern. The battery doesn't last when used in the brightest setting but I only use that for downhill single track. The medium settings still give enough light and will last for 3 hours. I have had 2 previous versions which stopped charging and they were both replaced by the distributor. I would buy again.
  2. What an awesome event. Loved it in 2017 and doing it again this year. I think the pricing is fair. Not cheap but fair. They have a lot of logistics to handle with the point to point nature of the event unlike a lot of the other stage races that have multiple nights in the same camp. Best food and vibe in any of the multi day races I've done. Very good combination between a hard enough route but still able to have a jol without killing yourself. 9 weeks to go, lots more training to be done. Dreaming of :Great wall my China, Sollys, Umko, Harrisons, Rock & Roll, Gumtree, etc etc
  3. Lots of gravel grinding options in the direction of Elim also Arniston and Die Mond. You can easily string together 100kms of gravel with very little tar. Just don't get stuck out there coming home into a monster wind having long since run out of water and food. After biting off more than I should've I had to phone SWAMBO to come collect. I can highly recommend the tracks above Bredasdorp. Lekker little trails, mostly single track, some good gradient changes and nice rocky bits. The last time I bumped into Naas he explained that they were trying to open up trails all the way to Napier, maybe some of those are open now. Drop him a line via Southernmost Foundation website or Facebook - Naas Vermaak
  4. Bike Park Uitsig constantia. Used them for a few years now. Great quality of work. They don't try to rip you off like a few other shops I've tried. Good bunch.
  5. Good fun little event. 50kms is a proper workout. Welvanpas trails are always great. Lots of other fun little bits of single track. Not much jeep track. Worth doing.

  7. something like this? https://www.adverts.ie/bikes/cannondale-si-lefty-headshok-integrated-toolkit-for-sale/1823468
  8. Your shock pressure already sounds very low. I weigh 88kgs and run the shock at 145psi which gives me a nice plush ride and I use the full travel on Cape Town's rougher trails. I use the lockout a lot to compensate for the very plush ride. I have found it better to run a slower rebound on the rear, 4 clicks from the slowest setting. I tend to run the Lefty quite "fast" When I had the lockout fail before it meant that the shock didnt release completely. It meant that sometimes the shock would feel locked even when the lockout was released. Sounds like a visit to the LBS is needed.
  9. Im a big fan of the Garmin 520. Buy it in the UK for about R4k and get it brought in. Plenty of battery life if you manage the settings. You can load up detailed free maps. The screen is very easy to read and most of the device is intuitive. Great local support through Navworld even if you havent bought it locally.
  10. YYYYYYIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. We were there a few months ago. The trails aren't what they used to be when we raced through the pines. Anyway there is still a lot of good riding in that area. I can highly recommend using Trails End MTB hotel as a start and finish spot. You can buy your permits there and they have good coffee and cold beers. Good crowd. we thoroughly enjoyed a couple of nights in the hotel.
  12. Very old Lefty on a 2016 Frame. Couldve been a frame warranty replacement.
  13. Rode Lizard a few times yesterday. Loved it. Thanks for all the work! You can now string together a nice XC mix with the snakes, Lizard, boulders and repeat. Good job.
  14. any chance of a pic? mine stolen in Feb in Cape Town. You never know...
