  1. On another note, has anyone bought their bibshorts? Prices seem reasonable and would like to know before I spend R1.5k on bibs. Thanks
  2. If you're near Kyalami, go to the Leeuwkop prison. Great riding there and you can get about 60kms odd. The entrance is near the old golf course clubhouse.
  3. Thanks for the heads up guys! It will be on gravel bikes, as we'll be tackling gravel and roads. @mazambaan need to buy an enduro bike (my next n + 1), as the guys from Detour mainly do natural, offroad trails around Afriski. I'll keep you guys posted once completed
  4. Hi Nico Did you do the trip? What was the roads like? Any suggestions or tips? I am looking to do a supported ride through Lesotho, leaving from Fouriesburg, first night will be at Katse Dam, and then second night passed Afriski at Oxbow. So will be 3 days of riding, approx 290kms with 8000m of climbing. Some thoughts and other pointers would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Are there any pics available? Where can we find them? First gravel race as have recently bought a gravel bike. Some proper racing, beautiful part of the far west rand on routes I've never done before. Well organised and attended, thoroughly enjoyable morning out!
  6. Great article encapsulating the whole vibe of the event. This is the 4th time doing the event, but 1st time for quite awhile, but so many new routes with some of the familiar favourites in too! Loved every second of it, just wish the routes on day 1 and 2 were a little longer to enjoy more riding. Also a great logistical race as no boxes and close to JHB to get home at a reasonable time on Sunday.
  7. I got a pair of these, and have struggled with cold fingers in winter as I have Reynaud's Syndrome (basically lack of blood circulation). These gloves work wonders for me when it's chilly. I also wear a pair of light running gloves underneath. Also a game changer is buying booties, I bought a pair of the Castelli ones, worth every cent.
  8. Jen Bowes - 340 on Main 0861 340 6246 - she's an athlete (IM, Double Century as well as multiple marathons) so will give good advice if you're looking to eat right while training.
  9. Hi guys. My wife uses a Namola, looks like a garage remote. It has a live track feature as well as a panic button. I get notified if she pushes it as well as an operator will call her asking if she needs assistance. If there is an issue, a notification is sent to nearby police, ambulance or security vehicles to help. It's a great added safety feature
  10. Panda is great value, if you live in JHB go to their offices, they have a bargain bin as well as overstock. Loads of great deals at great prices
  11. Hi Pete Dip Have you done your bike packing tour yet? Please give me some updates and how it went. Thanks
  12. Ciovita or Enjoy? Also Sako7 have some retro ones.
