  1. Please explain to me how Garmin is way off with their pricing? Looking at the exchange rate with all the taxes included the price will be very close to Navworld's prices by my calculations. Not trying to be a box here but if you going to make statements like above make sure your able to back that statement.
  2. Almost how I do it, also with a high volume Lezane pump. I just haven't needed the soapy water to get the tyre to seat. I just try to make sure the bead of the tyre is as close to the rim hook as possible.
  3. I've recently bought an Indola Enduro bib. One of the most comfortable bibs I've owned.
  4. Most comfortable has been the Levi 541 for me. Second best is a jean I got from Woolworths (can't remember the brand). Finding a jean that fits is always a struggle as it seems the shops think we are a very fit and healthy nation with all the skinny jeans available.
  5. Very sad news. Condolences to his family.
  6. It's unbelievable to what lengths certain people will go if they think they have been treated incorrectly.
  7. Very funny post, thanks for that. But what cracked me up was this:
  8. I am still on my 26er. Haven't bought a new tyre in some time. Buy here on bikehub when anyone sells a tyre that looks like it could work for me.
  9. That reminds me, have to get some blue cableties. Starting from FF so the quick hubbers on their second lap can help me up the hills.
  10. I did the race last year on my mtb with knobblies. Had a long day in the saddle but enjoyed almost every minute of it. I am considering getting a tyre like the Maxxis Overdrive to make it a bit easier and make the last couple of uphills not feel so never-ending. But I do have UST rims and changing tyres is a 10min job for me. If you do have issues seating a tyre on the rims I would stick to the knobblies. I pumped the tyres to almost 4 bar last year and the rolling resistance was a lot less. My strategy is to take it easy until the Nelson Mandela bridge that is halfway and asses if I can go harder or just keep my pace and enjoy the day out. The vibe on the race is what made me register again.
  11. Got myself some new S-Track cleats. Was putting that off for a while now but the price made the decision for me.
  12. I have been using Stans with Maxxis Monorail tyres for about 4 years now. Had one that delaminated but that was the tyre that was on the back wheel when I got it. Other than that it has been hassle free with almost not flats except for a piece of glass and massive thorn that punctured big holes. I have nothing bad to say about Stans and will keep on using it. Just m 2c.
  13. I have used XT trail, CB Candy, Time ATAC and now Look S-Track pedals. Really enjoying the S-Tracks and won't be changing soon.
