  1. Stolen: YT Industries YT Capra 2017 When: 28/11/2023Where: Mountainside, Cape Town, Western CapeStock standard. Has xt platform cleat pedals. front tyre is original maxxis and rear is a specialised ground control.Get further details about the incident in the Stolen Bikes section.
  2. My red and black YT Capra was stolen last night (28/11/2023) at around midnight. Bike was pretty much standard with original parts. In good condition with shimano xt cleat platform pedals. Both bikes were chained together.
  3. Very strange that no-one has mentioned Garmin's crash detection function. Its certainly a better option than waiting for someone to find you in the bushes and read your ICE info.
  4. There is. I've never made it past the pump track but just behind it is an xco style flat course. My advice would be to lock your suspension out and hit the pump track. Alternatively hire one of the jump bikes to hit the pump track and jump line on.
  5. Billy 081 885 2914. Used him a few times. Great service and decent price.
  6. I've had the same thing happen. Eventually found out my iron levels were low. Could also be low magnesium or potassium. Whatever it is I would definitely try find the cause and not ignore it. Very easy to dig a big hole for yourself trying to swallow htfu tabs instead of finding the cause.
  7. For most sports that have medical cover, you need to be assessed by the medics at the event before they will cover you. If you are in an incident it needs to be reported to the medics at the event. It makes sense as the injury could've happened the following day or whilst riding home from the event etc.
  8. I can't comment on the necrosis. I had a wrist injury a few years back on the mx track. I'm pretty sure the doc cocked the op up and left me with about 35% rom. I eventually went for a second opinion after 3 months rehab and no improvement. Had a partial fusion done that the doc said would last for quite a few years and then I would need to consider a full fusion if the pain got too bad. That was about 10 years ago. So far so good. Its amazing how the body compensates and adapts. I don't feel the lack of range has inhibited any of my skills or had a negative impact on any of my activites (Mtb, Road, Enduro, Yoga etc.) yet. Good luck with the op, OP. Hope all goes well.
  9. It is definitely a snakebite from hitting the rim. They are very difficult to repair. If you plug it will hold while the bike isn't moving. As soon as you ride I'm pretty sure the rim moving on the plug causes it to lose pressure and you end up with another snake bite due to the decreased pressure. If its happened 4x just suck it up and toss the tyre in the bin and replace with a new one.
  10. I find the obsession with mileage a bit strange. My goal has always been to do as little mileage as possible without it affecting my performance. #junkmiles Apparently your immune system is comprised most severely for about 2-4 hrs after exercising. It's a good idea to avoid people for that period, if possible. Also wash your hands compulsively during hard training blocks. #ocd I am also a fan of vitamin B shots though a GP I chatted to said a decent zinc supplement would be more effective.
  11. I'm happy to get my chain line within 0.5m of dead center. I can't imagine 3mm would make a noticeable difference on a system that moves as much as a chain system does between the 10 and 42. Also, are you sure they didn't adjust the spacers on the crank to compensate?
  12. I bought a Capra a1 and I'm very impressed with the bike. If the jeffsy is anything like the Capra, I would push the button.
  13. I'm sure the widths are the same. It's the internal radius that's different to get the 10 gear to fit.
  14. I had a similiar problem with losing my chain on my 1x10. Have installed a front derailleur without the cables etc. Haven't dropped the chain since.
  15. I converted my 26" Merida 120 (carbon frame) to 650b wheels. Not a lot of clearance on the rear but most 2.2 tyres are fine.
