  1. Or taken to Mozambique and sold for R1000 with new plastic pedals
  2. I’ve done both the Sedge500 and Burra500 and found them both great experiences. I only got 300km into sedge. I wish there were more events like these, low cost for plenty riding and plenty stories on the finish line. Could you do it yourself on a Tuesday, yes. Have you? No. Would I have if it wasn’t an event…No. That’s the big difference, enter and pay and you in the chute, sitting at home and saying you could do it for free, you’ll probably never do it.
  3. This boggles the mind. I filled out the survey. I can't believe this is a topic of concern for them given the plastic and general river pollution.
  4. I use a led lensor torch and mount it with an adapotor (there's a few). Works amazingly and you get multiple uses for the tourch (ie hiking, game viewing). It's also lighter than a big battery pack. It's been a revelation. https://www.outdoorwarehouse.co.za/product/led-lenser-p7r-core-rechargeable-torch https://www.takealot.com/killerdeals-cycling-universal-360-degree-rotation-clip-on-bicycl/PLID70964229?gclid=Cj0KCQiAmeKQBhDvARIsAHJ7mF6bd2sNY2Pec8Fu0bfS9Yavf8p7M1SMRcQhzgEfpT2qbzZ132za0dgaAmngEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds Can't rate this setup enough
  5. Looking at getting new rims, either ID 30 or ID36. But leaning towards ID30. Ja the objective is to run super low pressures with a rigid fork.
  6. Awesome, now the other thing is to check how much clearance the old hardtail has and if it can accomodate a 3.0! Looks like a healthy clearance but hard to know exactly
  7. Ja the Rekon I can get in 29 x 2.6 or 27.5 x 2.8. Can't seem to find 29 x 2.8. But the 2.6 is not a bad option either actually
  8. Hello, Looking to build a bikepacking rig and want to fit 29 x 2.8 or 29 x 3.0 fast rolling tyres. I've searched the interwebs and can't find a place to source such tyres? Any advice? Maybe fat bike tyres? Thanks
  9. Thanks, I would probably like to send it in so a 'professional' can do it. Any suggestions? Perhaps a carbon repair workshop could do it easily. I'm in a sectional title so I don't have much space to be stripping paint.
  10. Hey Guys, Looking for the best and most economical way to strip paint on on old hardtail and convert it into a raw aluminium finish? First prize would be to send it in somewhere (maybe sandblasting?) and second prize would be DIY. Any advice? Thanks
  11. Or just the good ol' spruit, a few sections where there are substantial jump and Delta has a flow berm section. Most of the Joburg parks don't have the kind of jumps the spruit has in places
  12. It's very rocky and one of the more technical races
