  1. DOC-20240306-WA0019..pdf there is no cost, you need to take a copy of your ID and a photo. When I went they were doing the processing week days between 2pm and 4pm.
  2. They are all special Vic but this one is definitely my favourite.
  3. Gemini by French frame builder Henri Depierre. Spanish rider Luis Ocana rode a Motobecane branded Gemini to victory in the 1973 Tour de France. Some top riders rode Gemini bikes in the 70s. The French Gemini frame is distinguishable by the following unique markings on the frame: The '"Sporting Cockerel" "Le Coq Sportif" on the down-tube lug. This is a popular symbol in French sports. The shape of the cut-out in the head lug represents the shape of the country of France. The "Roto" BB shell. The seat stays are brazed onto the seat lug. Depierre's name can be seen on the surface of the top eye. Simple head tube transfer design.
  4. I have one with 8 speed Veloce. Realistic value between R4500 and R6000.
  5. Very interesting article. I love those old derailleurs. I have a Campagnolo Nuovo Valentino Extra and a Super in my collection. Not very functional but so interesting to collect.
  6. I am definitely popping in there when I am next in the area.
  7. These photos show how the bike was found after it had been sitting for half a century in the owner's backyard in Claremont Cape Town. This is how he specified it and raced it. He won the Kentish Wheelers of London Grand Prix 1000 metres sprint in 1955, but not sure if on this bike or one of his other bikes.
  8. Thanks LC, I will be taking the frame to BMC to have a look at.
  9. Thanks for the info. I would love to have a look at the timeline if you don't mind emailing it to me. I think you still have my address from the Impey article I sent you.
  10. Nils thinks 1950's. I sent some pictures to someone in the US who keeps records of the serial numbers and studied the history of the Cinelli bikes. If I hear back from him will let you know.
  11. Rumour has it that the bike was kept outside in the garden, but I am still trying to find out the full history.
  12. I was trying hard not to buy any more bikes this year but this old Cinelli was shouting out loud. The plan is to keep it in its weathered condition. Accept for the wheels and pedals everything seem to be original. It almost looks like the bike was wrapped in a foil like metal and then painted. The Magistroni crankset is really cool.
  13. I think that is my Colnago Master Arabesque that you are seeing in the back.
