  1. Its produced by TheBabyFood Co. That said...its not baby food (i know....i was the one that did the process validation on it before it can be released to market).
  2. Strictly speaking....theres actually "nothing wrong" with pet food (besides the taste)....its perfectly safe to eat......(I 'm in the food industry...do work for all the canning companies in SA...and some outside....so i've seen the inside of practically every production facility in south africa.....i get to test the internal temperatures of those cans...and then have to approve whether it gets released into industry) Pet food is actually processed to a MUCH higher spec than anything else...including baby food (theres a saying....."there are 2 things you dont mess with...peoples children..and their pets") Interestingly enough...in the case of cat food (the pilchard or hake one)...the formula for the pet food, is exactly the same as the one for the pilchard/hake mince in a can...thats sold as "human consumption"........the pet food one is more expensive too!!!! ....exact same thing.
  3. Ok......so now i know what a pitbull terrier attached to your arm feels like !!! backtrack to monday....and the neighbours foxterrier charges out of his yard...and goes for one of my dogs while they're playing in the front yard....i had to pull my 3 off him with great difficulty (they were playing ragdoll with him)...and i was at one point thinking "dead dog".......pulling 3 dogs off another dog by yourself (while the other dogs owner stands and watches is not fun)....anyway.....only a few scrapes on the foxie...that was it Fastforward to tuesday....my 3 are still very worked up about the previous days fight..... I sat in kitchen eating some biltong with the 3 around me....the black one (spencer)...was having none of it and probably worried about sharing....goes for the staffie.....Mila..the female goes for spencer (very protective of the staffie...hes "her" property) It got ugly when the was no growling...just quiet...with 3 dogs locked to each other......got the staffie off first (hes obedient and listens...but the bugger kept coming back for another bite...worked up by the whole incident). Then got Mila off.....picked spencer up and started carrying him out..with the other 2 snapping and biting around my legs. Was here that the female bit him while i was carrying and made him really angry.. he clamped onto my arm......Hes only 8months old...but the jaw pressure was huge...felt it bigtime.....shouted at him and he let go. Had him outside....in process of closing door the female bites again...and he automatically clamped onto me again. Finally had him on his own...and he let go. thoroughly the moer in (my dogs dont fight...and i make a habit of making sure they dont)...i ended up chasing them around for a while to properly discipline them......one handed of course.
  4. Was a bit hectic the first 2 days....the female (rednose) is the dominant dog....and she was not too happy .....but they're sorted now. She still puts him in his place quite quickly, but its more a show of teeth and some growling...then its over. First night she pinned him to the ground and wouldnt get off...had to lift her off him and put her outside. Strangely enough...he gets on with the staffie the best (another male)...and will go sleep next to him readily enough VERY clever pup....tell him something once or twice...and he absolutely wont do it again (was heading for other dogs bowls at feeding time, and snapped when taking treats)...tapped him on nose and told him no......hasnt done it again yet. Will even go to his bed when you tell him....
  5. The new guy..... Hey hooman....where iz food? Picking on the new guy
  6. Good luck to you on this..... let me tell you about my stages experience and omnico... A week before argus...power meter breaks (the actual housing where the tabs from the cover lock onto broke completely)...i contact stages and send them pics. They say definitely a warrantee issue (it was a version1 of the power meter).....i should send off to local agent (omnico) and theyll sort out. i contact shop i bought it from...take it in...and they say they'll drop off with omnico. I then phone omnico...who say its a warranty replacement......and i get asked what model it is....tell them its a 172.5mm durace ace 9000...... Ummmmmmm we dont have stock of that (WTF).....will be here in 2 weeks (a standard time frame from other complaints i've heard) 7 weeks later!!!! shop lets me know new power meter finally here.....apparently omnico sent the broken meter back to stages...who said replace it (warranty(....now fine..i can understand sending it off.......but 7 weeks?
  7. cricket balls.....hockey balls....golf balls.......hahahahhaha....they dont last very long where a staffie/pitbull are concerned. Ive watched that one of mine...she'll chew/nibble at it and once she gets a spot where she can dig her teeth in....then its about 5 minutes and theres only bits of it left. I found her chewing a brick already!!! My staffie....sticks and tennis balls and bits of ball left over from the other shark (he's old now...so not up for it anymore)
  8. "Cat detected".....protection mode ON

Not to rain on anyones parade.....but have you been out on the route lately...specifically past fairview. You have 7km of BAD roadworks (1 lane only with barriers/posts/holes....all kinds of stuff) Was talking to one of my riding buddies about it while out that way 2 weeks back. So.....got him to mail ppa about it. They're looking into alternatives (going to ride through that section tomorrow)....and might do a detour ....detour might be 6km longer

  11. 17mm x 160mm....thats off the 'net but if u want an actual battery...i'll go take mine out (its just a pain to do since its not in the seatpost but in the frame....also a ISP....but a trek madone)
  12. The fresh stuff is all good..... One MAJOR concern (and not many people know this) .....is something like chicken (as deanbean) said......if you're going to eat chicken....do freerange (it costs more...but heres why) Standard battery chickens get fed a majority of fishmeal supplemented food to get them to grow faster/bulk up etc.....(fishmeal=high protein content) Now fishmeal is made of "trash" fish and waste offcuts from the factories......so they chuck all the blood and bits into a huge 120ton pit......where ti lies for a "while". After a bit ....this stuff is basically liquid (sometimes comes off the boat that way too)......fishmeal is then made by cooking this...pressing it to remove oil....and drying the rest to a meal texture. The only problem is....the screw augurs cant "bite" on a liquid mix......and thus they add formaldehyde to denature the protein and solidify it.....google formaldehyde/formalin and see just how bad it is (its a carcinogen...ie cancer causing). they're allowed....BY LAW ...to add it...and they add 100's of liters of it to make fishmeal.....fishmeal then gets fed to chickens.....which u eat....etc etc
