  1. Love my FR pros, but the FiveTen quality has really dropped. I only ride flats and have DMR v12 pedals. My pair has been warrantied twice already in the last 8 months. Yes. On my 3rd pair in less than a year. First one the seams on the top of the ankle sleave started coming loose 2 months in. Second pair the soles rubber was just not up to scratch and my pins started eating through the grip knobs into the inner sole withing 4 months. And no, my pins are replaced regularly. I ride 1 or 2 a week, can work out how many rides... That said GetStoked warrantied without any issues. Holding thumbs this last pair lasts. As for size, 1/2 or 1 size bigger should be fine. Its a thickish padded shoe... My next pair will be the ION raid amps. Great reviews... My few cents
  2. My two babies... Fully restored vintage 1993 Rincon vs my 2015 Trance 2 trail machine. 23 years of development right there! Just need to add a Reign, XTC and Glory to this Giant family... :)
  3. Yeap, he was awestruck! Thanks man. I'm contemplating! Thanks man! Thanks man! True dat! My dad was hinting having the bike back! lol
  4. I know right! Already thinking of a new project for the year; good suggestion! DO IT! Well worth the satisfaction. Its keeping motivated thats the problem! Especially with a mountain of worse for wear parts than need attention. A good beer while doing this seemed to help! Tnx bro! I thought something was "odd" when I refitted it! Modern seat mounts have come a long way. It shall be rectified!
  5. I still have them... but I like what my Mama gave me... lol
  6. Finally got some time to work on the old lady again this past weekend. Finished of sanding and painting the few remaining like the headset assembly etc Assembled the headset with some new bearings and grease Stem and hanblebar! Brake levers and shifters! Grips and bullhorns! Hoses and cabling of brakes and gears! What 90's bike did not have reflectors?
  7. Started with some assembly this afternoon. Starting to look like a bike! Cranks Rear derailer Front derailer Rear wheel Chain Might need "some" indexing... LOL
  8. UPDATE! Rushsports now has stock. Get your LBS to order yourself some. MAX | 6900 FO LLU | 10 X 22/24 X 6/8MM EXTENDED RACE BEARING If your pivot bolts looks like this (roundish head), then you DON'T need this special bearing. If your pivot bolts looks like this (flattish head covering the whole bearing), then you need this bearing. Yes, it should be flush against the frame but mine still needs the right bearing fitted at the LBS Monday...
  9. Thanks! Yeah, definitely. Going to be my CX'ish play bike. Will save me a fortune in tyres... My mate recently finished restoring a vintage as well, so we are going to have some fun! He opted for the complete brushed/polished look... Think its a 1998 Trek 8000 (Yeah, i'm a little jealous... ) LOL. My sincere apologies. How rookie of me. I was more fixated on making sure I don't pinch the tube and have the tire direction correct. It shall be rectified this evening!
  10. Had a nasty cold this week, rendering my riding plans out for the weekend. Instead I worked on the older lady again... Polished the cranks Finished off the bull horns with some fine grit and then polished it off some steel wool Started working on the brakes. First striped then polished the calipers
  11. True that! Bang for Buck still good value for money. Think I paid less thank R500 for both!
