  1. Thanks!! Appreciate! Will give it a shot. đź‘Ť
  2. Thanks! Excuse my ignorance but which part of the cassette is the "snap ring" and how do I remove it? I've looked at this cassette from all angles and IMO the only possible way to get into the cassette is by somehow removing the 50T cog, which seems to be pressfit mounted onto the 42T cog.
  3. Guys, has anyone successfully replaced the core inside a Eagle XX1/01 cassette? If so, would appreciate an explanation on the process followed please. I have a 1st generation XX1 cassette that had to be replaced prematurely because of broken mounting splines (long story) a few years ago - the replacement cassette is now nearing end of life and I was wondering if it won't be possible to remove its core, which has no broken splines, and use it to replace the core with the broken splines in the older cassette?
  4. Dinner time presentation - through what is said, how it is said and by giving almost zero recognition to the top three finishers in other categories.
  5. I did my 4th W2W this weekend and the 1st one since the Epic guys took over. I enjoyed it and would be back again, but there are a few things worth mentioning. Positives: Food was really great. Trails fantastic. Route marking top notch. Communication with riders and results were adequate and timeous. Amenities on par with other similar events. Negatives: Organisers were surprisingly totally under-prepared for the weather! The start at Lourensford was disorganised and they seemed almost caught off-guard! At Oak Valley walkways were inadequate, not enough shelter / gazebo's and the tents are not designed for wet weather - they leaked and with the opening on the narrow side it was impossible to enter or exit in the rain without your bedding getting soaked. The "gees" in my opinion was not as good as previous years - for example what happened to the signature W2W theme song that they used to play prior to each batch's start?? Weeks afterwards the song would still bring back great memories of W2W - nothing like that anymore! I agree with others - the event does "feel" more corporate, or business-like. Whilst the idea of a ladies-focused event is great and justified, the implementation thereof imo need work. The organisers shouldn't loose sight of the fact that everyone paid the same entry fee, so you can't treat some as VIP's and the rest as if they are just there to make up the numbers, because that's honestly how it felt to me.
  6. My wife and I have been using the Giant Neostrak since they were launched last year March. Battery life is amazing and it works brilliantly for something that only costs R2K! Super value for money! The only real gripe is the navigation - it sucks - so it all depends what you want to use it for.
  7. Anyone knows whether the new Suunto platform that's replacing Movescount is linked with Discovery Vitality as yet? My wife got her new Suunto 5 last week and it syncs perfectly with the new Suunto app etc, but it doesn't seem to be pulling through to Vitality :-(
  8. Really looking forward to the race. Did it 2 years ago and it was awesome! Am however becoming somewhat concerned about the weather. Saturday seems ok, but my app now shows rain Friday too where previously it was only showing rain for Wednesday. Do anyone perhaps know how well those trails drain?
  9. Contact Marc Carr - in my opinion one of the very best wheelbuilders in CT! He is ex Crown Cycles, then headed up technical at Swift and from 1 Jan 2018 partly owns a new bike shop called East City Cycles in Harrington Road. https://www.facebook.com/EastCityCycles/
  10. Is the road at "Big Dipper" open, or are they still rebuilding the bridge?
  11. Some advice please guys. My wife and I will be on holiday in Hartenbos again from next week and as in the past plan on doing lots of cycling on the extended network of gravel roads in the area between Mosselbaai and George. In the past we had no safety issues, but the last time we were there was 2 years ago, so what's the situation like currently wrt safety on these back roads? Any roads/areas that we should avoid? We normally ride early mornings. Thanks!
  12. Was just wondering whether there's any further news / info on the technical issues referred to above on the Giant Neos Track? The unit is so new there isn't much on the net, so I did some searching on the Bryton Rider 530 which the Giant Neos Track is based upon and couldn't find much (any) negative comments, so am puzzled as to why the Giant Neos Track would have technical issues? Wonder what kind of issues they had (over and above the cadence sensor mentioned above)? Software / hardware?
  13. Mawbs, it's been just over a year since you started this thread so what happened after you posted the above? Did you end up using the Mezcal's permanently on the front and back, and what's your overall thoughts on the Mezcal now that you've used it for an extended period (assuming you didn't take it off straight after the last post)?
