  1. since when did you enter for a goody bag. You enter the race to ride/race it and to enjoy time on your bike. Alot of the money goes for organising the vent and have full road closures that is actually very expensive. Yes the price is high but rather skip on a few beers or cigarettes and help the cause that do raise alot of money for different charity groups Us South Africans just love to moan about the biggest crap. As also mentioned by others, rather give it to charity. We don't understand what it is to have nothing
  2. Yip with the Hoedspruit bunch. Had a few mattes that did it the past weekend. Alot of the riding in Blue Canyon Conservancy. Another 2 friends of mine did an fun tour inside of Klaserie. They loved it. I actually went onto Strava after the post and saw that a few guys are regularly riding on the gravel road as you enter the Tau Gate and when you get to De Wagedrift gravel road. The went down the road for about 10km and turned back to head back to the starting point. I'm waiting for Dinokeng reserve to get back to me also else I will phone tomorrow to find out. All the best with your tours. Alot of work will need to go into it to make it work.
  3. Im looking to go to Dinokeng soon and want to actually take my mtb with. What is the current rules, I can't find it anywhere? I have to stay within the rules I know even that i'm an ex field guide with FGASA 3 Hope that you have your Phalaborwa trails up an running. I heard that Masketi or something like that called does not do any mtb trails anymore in the area.
  4. Was really impressed how the event was run. Very good traffic marshalling and free booze lol My standard as always happened. Stage 1 - 2 technical and a puncture stage 2 - rear hub gave trouble and became unrideable and had to take a spare wheel (will take a penalty for it) that was a junior restricted gearing and chased back to the 3rd group on the road where my gf fell back to to wait for me. Me over the bike picture, lyk of ek n drol uit druk stage 3 - no issues finally but just had a chilled ride further. Left the racing for the strong boys and girls stage 4 - the previous day gin took a bit of a toll not to mention that I only discovered yesterday a small ligament torn in my ankle that I thought was just a sprained ankle that happen on the day before the race by doing rope skipping in a school event well done to all that did the race. As always great fun and commendatory in the event. but those e-bikes made us all look like beginners on the climbs
  5. that's all up to you. Start and stop every stage start, stop and save after every stage remember if you use auto pause if will start recording when you free wheel and walk with your bike between the different stages
  6. I had in a 12 week cycle only 1 diamond and you can't just use 1. So it had to expire and the following run of rewards you will get your normal reward if you achieve your goal and they give you n another play. A bit of a stupid rule but that's how they do it as I got 25 points for a diamond. Well at least I got now 2 diamonds in a row, lets hope I can get to 5 then Amashova or Argus here we come.
  7. WTF is this crazy clip. Even an Nigeria karate atty can make a better video!!!!!!!
  8. I tried that a few years ago. At that stage I had a seeding of 13.?? on my road races and they still refused to reseed me. I had to start in the last batch (think it was F, Ashburton series that time) as it was my 1st race where SAseeding was used, other mtb races before that was all the more local mtb races. Was a battle to get through the traffic especially on the steep uphills as people walking in both tracks. Caught up to guys that started in the A batch

As all said, very flat and fast. Just watch out for the railway track crossing at about 80km.
  10. I have my disagreements on your viewpoints on the whole vegan thing and made believe that everesting is easy no matter what you said in point 3. But that does not chance the fact that you tried and will go for it again. I will respect that.
  11. Heard some good things about it but never tried it myself. Andre Griepel team is riding in Ekoi and the glasses and helmets used by Quickstep and AG2R where did you see them on special? or at the store in Kempton Park?
  12. well done to all on here, just saw the thread now All I can say, It makes such a huge difference in your cycling and enjoyment in cycling if you are lighter and that in a healthy way.
  13. I does not matter if you are stronger in the group or not. You have to abide by the rules. Don't break the rules as the only way of dropping the other guys in the group. That just makes you an idiot, well a word that starts with a D is more appropriate. We see it even in training rides where guys will ride in such a way to hide from the wind and even if it means to push a girl into the wind. Dgas, don't worry. I'm sure that most will do it even for the ones that say it's wrong, not pointing to this thread itself but more in general.
  14. Also saw on Fb yesterday that Wimpie is also doing another Everest on the 9 May I think. The gradient is ave 12 If I recall correctly
  15. Agree on the F word is not the same as the k word. Then again the F word can also be an insult on our way of thinking. The difference do come that he thinks he can run his mouth and people must accept his view points and insult us that is not vegan's. That's where you are looking for a "fight". I do have a lot of words for him but not over social media but to his face, that's how stuff gets sorted.
