Event Name: Trans Gouritz 5 Day MTB When: 23 May 2018 - 27 May 2018 Where: Pine Creek Resort, Greatbrak River, Western Cape Category: MTB This year’s event you will be crossing 3 mountains over 5 days, the Langeberge, Rooiberge and the Outeniqua Berge in the Garden Route. you will see the best of the Gouritz Biosphere Cluster Reserve by doing this event, each day in a different area, staying 4 nights at a different town. We now also includes a CycloCross Bike category in the Gouritz Outeniqua event. This year’s event is a circular route over 5 days, from the the small hamlet Great Brakriver (25 km from George and Mosselbay) to Van Wyksdorp to Oudsthoorn and back to Great Brakriver. Each day you will ride to a different town. The Gouritz Cluster Biosphere Reserve is one of the biggest Biospheres in the World and includes the following towns: Montagu, Swellendam, Barrydale, Ladysmith, Prince Albert, Oudtshoorn, Mosselbay, Uniondale, De Rust. Date: 23 to 27 May 2018 Start Venue: Pine Creek Resort, Greatbrak River PLEASE NOTE: The entry fees includes 4 nights accommodation: 2 nights tented accommodation, 1 night in a loft room (bunk beds) and 1 night at a 4 star guest house. Wake up by the calls of the Knysna Loeries and Spot a Bush buck early morning. Only 200 riders allowed. Enter with your friend or with your family. E Bikes welcome as unofficial category! Day 1: Between George and Great Brak river on jeep tracks and gravel roads on MTO property at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains. You will have amazing views over the Sea and farms while you cycle on what the locals call the “Forest Highway” through the indigenous forests and MTO plantations. Day 2: Between Great Brakriver and Little Brakriver, mostly on a private farm on jeep tracks, single tracks and gravel roads right next to the Big 5 Game Reserve Botlierskop. We also give you the option to enter as a relay team, this will allow you to choose doing only half the distance each day. Event Name: Trans Outeniqua 3 Mountains 3 Day MTB Tour When: 17 April 2016 - 19 April 2016 Where: Pine Creek Caravan Park, Western Cape Category: MTB The Trans Outeniqua MTB tour will start at Pine Creek River Resort in Great-Brak River and will take you over 3 mountain ranges, the Langeberg Mountains, over the Rooi Berge and over the Outeniqua Mountains. It is 3 days of exhilarating riding along and over the mountains. This is great long distance training for the Epic, but doable for the intermediate to fit Mountain biker. No technical riding. Stay at 4 star accommodation and get spoiled with a 20 minute massage Friday and Saturday so that your legs are ready for the next day. Please note this is a Tour, not a race, you go your own pace. Great training for the for Epic or any other Endurance race. Take the Edge of racing and come and enjoy the Tour with us. Event Name: Benguela Cove Cross Tri When: 4 February 2017 Where: Benguela Cove Wine Estate, Western Cape Category: Multisport Exciting and Fast Cross Triathlon close to Hermanus at Benguela Cove Wine Estate. Swim in the Botrivier lagoon (salty water), cycle on the Benguela Wine Estate between the vineyards and run on the Estate. At all times while you cycle or run you will have the most amazing scenery with the lagoon and the mountains in the background. This will be a very fast triathlon with very little elevation, see the profiles. The cycling route and run routes are not technical and the water is salty. This is a great Cross triathlon to use as training for the rest of your season. Event Name: Jakkalsvlei Mountain Bike When: 29 October 2016 Where: Jakkalsvlei Wine Estate, Western Cape Category: MTB The Jakkalsvlei 27km MTB will give you the opportunity to explore the vineyards at Jakkalsvlei and the area around Herbertsdale. Enjoy the day with family as you taste wine from the cellar and cheer fellow athletes on. The Jackal Trail Run events will also take place on the same day. The new single track of 6km will be part of the 11km trail run. A FUN 2 Day MTB event for Woman only, no men with Tutus allowed. Cycle on jeep tracks, single tracks and small gravel roads between the Ostrich farms of the Klein Karoo. Wake up by the calls of the Fish Eagles and Spot a Meerkat family early morning. Only 100 riders allowed. Enter with your friend or with your family. Special category for Mother and Daughter as well. Start each day with a great Breakfast at De Zeekoe Guest Farm overlooking the Olifants River. De Zeekoe Guest Farm, a 4 star Guest Farm is also famous for their Meerkat Experiences. Event Name: Gouritz Bio MTB Relay When: 15 April 2016 - 17 April 2016 Where: Montagu, Gauteng Category: MTB A FUN and Corporate MTB event of 3 days with your company or just with your friends. 3 Days of riding in the Gouritz Bioshpere with your friends or your company as a Corporate Team, or as a Solo. The event will alternate each year from place to place, but will be hosted each year in the Gouritz Bioshpere. The Gouritz Bioshpere is one of the biggest Biospheres in the World and includes the following towns: Montagu, Swellendam, Barrydale, Ladysmith, Prince Albert, Oudtshoorn, Mosselbay, Uniondale, De Rust. Event Name: Benguela Cove Adventure Weekend When: 27 November 2015 - 28 November 2015 Where: Hermanus, Western Cape Category: Multisport New Trail Run, Swim and Sundowner MTB events close to Hermanus at Benguela Cove Wine Estate. Swim in the Hermanus lagoon (salty water), Sundowner MTB cycle on the Benguela Wine Estate between the vineyards and Trail run (Sundowner and Day) on single tracks around the Estate. During the cycle and/or run you will have the most amazing scenery with the lagoon and the mountains in the background. It is fast Trail and MTB event with very little elevation, see the profiles. The cycling and run routes are not technical. Do all 3 Disciplines over 2 days. This is a great weekend to use as training whether you are a Mountain biker, Triathlete or Trail Runner .
