  1. Not sure if its the same thing but drove past the ambulance and police and a few people that was standing around looking. This was on the R44 across from the Stonewall farm entrance roughly/ half way up that climb to Bike hanger co. This was @ 9:45. If it is the same incident there was allot of people that live close buy standing at the scene looking. There are loads of houses there. The people there will surely be able to help There was a green Ford Ecosport parked in the shoulder looked like someone that was helping. Had kids in the car so didnt stop.

  5. ""Louis Meintjes was given a substantial contract to re-join the team from UAE Team Emirates at the end of 2017, but his first season back was an unmitigated disaster. The South African finished inside the top 10 in just one stage race he started, while his two Grand Tour efforts in Italy and Spain resulted in a DNF and 58th overall. Aldag admits that collective mistakes were made throughout the year and that the team effectively tried to alter an already successful formula with new methods in relation to the rider’s training and race programme. Too much time was spent at altitude camps, racing blocks were too long and too demanding, and by the time Meintjes was meant to hit peak form, he was drained. "I think his preparation was too ambitious," Aldag admits after a year of hard knocks for the 26-year-old. "He had a super-positive attitude and knew where he wanted to kick ass. And there was this mentality of doing everything 20 per cent better, and that would result in a podium at a Grand Tour or even two Grand Tours. And because of that, I think it was overdone. He should have started slower and not gone too extreme. And that was not just his own mistake but also the team's. "He went to altitude training above 3,000m and came back super light. He did Algarve, Tirreno, Catalunya, and went to altitude again, but we didn't really give him the chance to recover. Then he went straight into the Tour of the Alps and then straight into recon for the Giro mountain stages. It was too much, too ambitious."
  6. Went in with a GC heavy team. Came in 34th not to bad. Thanks for making the tour even more fun.
  7. Next time you go try this route allot of gravel Helshoogte Franschoek pass Then via Villiersdrop towards Worcester. About 20km before Worcester there is a turnoff Skerpenheuvel pad Across from Cilmor Cellar This is a gravel road that runs all the way to mcgregor but there is a turnoff about 10km from Mcgregor that takes you directly to Robertson. Lots of climbing and beautiful flowing gravel roads. Most of its well marked.
  8. The shooting range is not close to any trails or shooting in the direction of the trails. Its in the kloof which you pass below and over top but very safe. The farmers are going on a hunt this weekend so think was just some fine tuning. If you stick to the trails you dont have to stress.
  9. ((((Time / Winner) – 1) / Beta) x 100) + Penalty [Time] is your time for the event, [Winner] is the time of the winner (sometimes adjusted) [beta] is a number that indicates the difficulty of the conditions where more than 1 means windy or hilly and less means flat or calm [Penalty] is a number that gets added to the index usually for the time that has passed since the event (more than 5 months old) From PPA website. Seems beta is subject to conditions.
  10. Same boat and changed this and managed to lose 4kg with just changing my lunch. use to have whatever was at the garage when i stopped coke chippies sandwich. What i do now is i stop mainly at Pic and Pay spar etc and looked for precooked grilled chicken or hake and salad or veg. If i have to stop at garage i buy biltong or nuts and 1liter sparkling water. Enough to last me till home time.
  11. Speculating but might be a charity entry which i think goes for R800.
  12. Are there any stats on your point one. Wonder how many tent the entire event. Not talking about the one night in the small town where there are no b and b's. Will be fun to have a heavy weight category of combined weight must be more than 190kg.
