  1. I have had this problem before and found that the flapping of some garments- shirt/ windbreaker against the unit could impact on accuracy. As it is trying to detect the pulse from your heart, the flapping shirt/ zipper interferes with it. Something to consider,.....
  2. Hi I would like to hear from hubbers who have ridden both the Phenom and the Power saddle on a mountain bike. Most would likely say the new Power saddle is great- I do however note with interest that Kulhavy, Grotts and Gaze are all on the Phenom. Looking forward to some input Regards
  3. Is it just me or was it very obvious that the pro's are ditching the RS1 in favour of SID's and the new Fox 32 step cast? Would like to know your opinion on this interesting tech omission from the race
  4. Have been using KCNC on my Tallboy for years now- no issues Carbon paste is definitely the answer! You will be surprised what difference it makes
  5. Thanks for all the responses It still is a nice shop to visit and they certainly have some good stuff- shoes, saddles etc are the best in my view. For a more choice driven experience on bike parts, I still prefer my LBS Great to have different options! And perhaps I am asking too much to expect a swap out as some have suggested, however, I am still glad to hear others have successfully swapped out parts
  6. Hi My recent experience is that Specialized is not a real "local" bike shop. I was looking to buy a bike and asked if the wheels could be swapped out for a better pair. "We have not done this before sir" What would we do with the wheel set?" It's better that you sell them yourself" Same answer about upgrading the group set- "We have not sold a group set to date" Common guys, get real- be a bike shop
  7. No helmet = no brains. Simple I have been run over by a car. Cracked skull and two days in intensive care. Was 1978, pre helmet days. Its a no brainer
  8. I had very bad itb issues and have found a wonderful solution, a good bike fit, here one may have to look at physio and foam roller!
  9. So this big guy was sitting on the Wattbike next to me in the gym and looking very impressive as he was pumping those "Rugby prop" legs. I peeked at his screen and did the same hart rate as him- then looked at his Watts/ KG only to see it was 1,7. Now Mr Skinny here next to him was doing 3,1 Watts/ Kg. Now I know why "rugby props" play rugby and do not ride the TDF
  10. Question: Two riders with the same FTP, say 4 W/ Kg but one weighs 100kg and the other say 66kg. Who is going to be stronger on a hilly course? Even though the theory says they have the same FTP- will the lighter rider not still be the better climber?
  11. Thanks for the response, the leaves the magic question- how to get left/ right power readings on a mountain bike??
  12. Thanks all for the good responses, Will the P1 be MTB compatible?
  13. Hi I am looking for feedback on the "typical" numbers that you may have seen for left vs right power distribution. My current difference as measured with a Wattbike (at the gym) is about 53/47 but sometimes as bad as 56/44. Is it worth investing time to try and even this number out or could that result in overall watt dropping as one might unconsciously reduce the effort of the stronger leg. Keen to have some comments or observations Thanks
  14. Hi Iwan Thanks, yes I would like to know how they compare, uphill, downhill, cornering, stiffness, playfulness, intended use? Looking to potentially make a move.
