  1. TokaiMTB, together with PPA and Amarider met with Table Mountain National Park management in Tokai for a further in-depth discussion regarding the ongoing logging operations and reopening timelines for recreational activities in the Tokai precinct and surrounds. Click here to view the article
  2. The planned build day this Saturday is postponed until further notice due to the fire that has gone through the plantation. Riders note: Most of the Tokai plantation has been burnt and the threat of fires flaring up again is still a strong possibility. Please avoid riding in Tokai. There is a big danger with regards to falling trees throughout the plantation so it is advised to not enter, even more so in wind. Emergency crews are in the area, assessing the damage and rescuing wildlife etc so let us let them do their job.

  4. Hi Hubbers, Please find the minutes from the AGM/Feedback meeting here. We will put up the presentation we showed some time next week so that it makes more sense to those who weren't at the meeting. We hope this answers some of your questions but know that it won't answer them all! Hope you all get in a great ride this weekend.

  6. Hi Hubbers, Just a reminder that the feedback/2015 TokaiMTB committee selection is happening tonight at the Riverclub at 18:30pm. We hope to see you there as we'd like to let the riding public know what we've learnt over the past year, what we've done and what the plans are for Tokai.

  8. Good news is that the big gap jump is now a 7.2m tabletop! Just please take it easy there guys-we don't want any big crashes and it's still quite a tricky line to get right as you have to clear the first 2 jumps cleanly. Hope you all have a great time riding over the silly season! https://twitter.com/AMA_TokaiMTB/status/541996409374113792/photo/1
  9. A reminder about the final build day of the year tomorrow in Tokai! Please make an effort to join us, meet us, talk with us and learn more about the trails. We're going to be working on making My Roots awesome again and the great news is we have the wood (and tools thanks to some generous donations) to complete the big table top jump below the big berm.
  10. Hi Hubbers, We've had a number of enquiries via our website for people looking to join in on group rides/social rides in Tokai. While we don't host any group rides ourselves, we thought this thread might help like-minded people hook up and perhaps those that already host social groups to put their information down here. As a reference maybe those groups that do go into Tokai regularly can enter some up the ride details as follows; Day of ride Time of ride Meeting point Pace of ride Skill level required Contact numbers Hopefully this can assist more riders meeting each other and riding more often!
  11. Hi Hubbers, Build day tomorrow so we hope to see a good turnout once again! So far theHub is turning out far more volunteers than Facebook or Twitter which is a great reflection on the community here. 9am-1pm at Tokai gate. I've organised plenty of ice cold beers (well, I've sorted the beers-blame Deon if they're not cold!) More info here -> http://tokaimtb.co.za/the-team/
  12. Hi Hubbers, Just to let you know that we have sent TMNP an email asking about the new price increase and if the Activity Cards will be affected as well. It's news to us so we are just checking whether there will, in fact, be an increase and why. And for your information-if you do ride the lower Tokai sections, you need to have a permit/activity card! I believe that they have put up signage stating as much. We'll let you know once they have responded to us.
  13. Hi Hubbers, We are aware that the snake trails are in need of maintenance and we have plans to work on all the XC trails ASAP. Our regular volunteer build days aren't quite enough to maintain the whole of the network in Tokai so we have a few plans in the pipeline to address that issue. Hoping that we can make a few public announcements in the next few weeks that will make all Tokai riders happy.
  14. Hi Hubbers, This Saturday 26th July will see the DH line below the berm getting worked on. From 9am-1pm. Free craft beers afterwards thanks to the kind folks at CBC!
