  2. I think having some basic knowledge of how your bike works before you go in to the shop is always a huge plus. That way you can look over the work they've done and know they are not ripping you off.
  3. So it appears my previous post mysteriously disappeared??? Maybe it was a little to straight forward. Let's try this... You could have tried taking it to "an international brand of warehouse clubs" who may or may not be a local distributor of Cannondale's....to see if they could have helped out with your warranty issue in a possibly more efficient and professional way....
  4. Haven't posted here in a while but saw this thread and thought I'd include myself. Living in North Carolina USA, a couple hours from Bailey Mountain Bike Park. Currently have a 1 bedroom apartment, but that should change next year.
  5. Great news. Think it's time to get her a proper collar with a name tag as well as an id implant just in case something like this ever happens again.
  6. I reckon you should make a batch and then sell off the excess. I'd be interested in giving it a go!
  7. Do you remember how much it cost to get your bike down? might need to take a bike to the US. Thanks
  8. Terry that really is such a *** one bud, especially since you just got put those new wheels on. Hoping you are able to recover it/organize something with your insurance.
  9. Well done Badsam, think its pretty safe to say that that is indeed the stolen bike! Hope they are able to recover it.
  10. Eish dude, that is really ***. Did you at least have it insured?
  11. Congrats dude!!! Awesome that you were able to get your bike back. Hope you screamed a solid F#!K YOU as you cruised off into the sunset with those clowns in the background. Crazy whats going on here in CT!!
  12. ok jeez, i know pretty much nothing about vat laws and all that other stuff, and have just gotten into this thread today. Pretty exciting stuff, haha. After reading over most of the replies on the last few pages, these are my thoughts...not that anyone should care! Who cares if he paid his tax when he returned, like so many have said, that's not our issue and certainly not why this thread was started. Im not the "honesty" and "right thing to do" police, and neither is anyone here. i don't know either of these people, and I am not getting paid "under the table" by any bike shops to post this, haha, seems like OP was told one thing, and has sufficient evidence as far as i bothered to check, to more or less back up what he has said. Epic should just help the dude out and try resolve the issue, sure things have been said in the heat of the moment, and poop has been flung, but come on, this is such a small issue in the greater scheme of things and frankly im surprised its gotten this many reply's, im actually surprised i have actually taken time out of may day to even bother with a post myself Simply put, sort out the vat issue, and send off whatever the OP needs when its done. You don't even have to speak to each other EVER again, once everything is sorted, just email it over, simple as that. Sigh...i have too much time to waste when looking at how much nonsense i just wrote!
  13. haha no i promise when i was holding him down there was blood all around his mouth from the punches etc. Obviously we both would have loved to get in more of a beating, and i assure you we tried, but unfortunately there were too many people there with far too much faith in the police. I know some people are saying its not worth it, and to an extent i agree, if someone came at me with a gun, the bike is yours, *** il even adjust the seat and show you how to lock and unlock the suspension, haha! But when it actually happens to you or a friend, and adrenaline kicks in, the last thing on your mind as you see the dude cruising down with your bike, perhaps even poping a wheelie with joy on his new toy, is "yoh luckily im ok". Again if when i got him to the ground and we started fighting, he pulled a gun or something i would have acted differently, but im pretty confident in my abilities to take control of a situation like that and knew that if I didn't catch him, the bike would be gone and the police would be of no help at all. It's different for everyone, but if someone takes my stuff, you best believe I am going to do everything in my power to get it back! 50k+ is a lot of money to lose and I know for me it would mean my cycling career is over, I could not afford another bike like that without saving for a few years!
