Had the same problem a few weeks ago after an upgrade. What worked for me was to unlink the device from my phone completely , and then re-link it with bluetooth, as if it was a new device

Go try and exchange it at the race office in the race village during the week.

Had the Garmin Edge 500 and loved it. Upgraded to the Edge 520, solely for the Bluetooth compatibility, and love it even more. Awesome device, and not really much bigger than the 500. You won't regret getting this, trust me.

Remove the pads, apply a bit of copper slip to the back (on the metal casing), and put them back. Worked for me
