  1. Congratulations! You're in for one helluva ride ahead!
  2. Did my first road ride on my road bike in the Cradle. The Infinito's ride was way more comfortable than I expected from a road bike.
  3. Hi Guys I'm totally new to road (MTB is really my thing), but ready to give it a go. Was considering a new Giant TCR Advanced 2 but then this Italian beauty came into my life... 2010 full carbon Bianchi C2C Infinito with Campagnolo Centaur CT Carbon groupo (2x10). Replaced the bar tape, chain and tyres. Fitting all done and insurance will be sorted out Friday Then I can go ride my [emoji7]new bike[emoji7]...
  4. Sorry man! At least you're now on the road to recovery.
  5. Early morning Club Ride at around 3°. Heading towards the light...
  6. Howzit isetech. I was down in Durbs over Easter where my Anthem X3 26er was stolen. I decided to replace it promptly to enjoy the trails some more before returning to Jhb. Needless to say, I ended up returning to Cyclesphere (where I'd bought my 1st Anthem) and bought a new Anthem X29er. Greg and his team are awesome, as you've already experienced - so you won't go wrong there. As for the bike, the Anthem X29er has been an absolute revelation! Every ride leaves me with a huge grin. It's a great overall package at the price. Though affordability was not an issue, I could not justify a Scott over the proven value for money, proven Maestro suspension and reliability of the Anthem. I recommend you buy a 2015 with the Fox CTD Evolution shocks. And for the lifetime warranty on the frame. Then enjoy creating great memories...
  7. Did 61km this morning - Broadacres plus part of Cradle Route return. The longest ride I've done and I'm now really feeling it. [emoji16] The road parts were ok, but the district roads and single track were the bomb!
  8. Some lovely single track near Riversands this morning. This Anthem is just so awesome to ride and looks so freakin' awesome in its natural habitat.
  9. Had an awesome crisp ride this morning. These were taken near Riversands - fantastic flowing single-track in the forest.
  10. Thanks Iwan. Sound advice. [emoji106]
  11. So, I've been mountain biking for a while now, and am thinking of also doing road. So have been perving the 2015 TCR Advanced 2. Given the not-so-massive price differential between the TCR Advanced 2 and the Propel Advanced 2, does it make sense to consider the Propel as a 'beginner' roadie? Thanks in advance!
  12. Yep, definitely get your wife involved in the exercise - it's amazing how what makes absolute sense to us men will not make the cut with them - so we have to put in the hard miles and meet them where they're at. [emoji26][emoji35][emoji24][emoji7] I got my wife a Liv Tempt 3 27.5 after she tried out several other bikes (29er, 27.5, men's vs women-specific, Scott, Trek, etc.). She felt more in control of the 27.5 as opposed to the 29er. She's also quite short and the small frame suits her very well. The Liv Tempt 3 ticks all the right entry level boxes (Giant brand, hydraulic disc brakes, lifetime guarantee on the frame, sub-R7k price, etc.) and is pretty in sparkly purple. She loves it and rides it - which at the end of the day is what counts. So good luck! This is the only pic I have of it on my phone.
  13. The start of the Due South Night One at Northern Farms. Was having too much fun to take pics during the ride, but the lines of lights snaking through the trees of the enchanted forest were something to behold.
