  1. What a great race that was! Organisation was fantastic! Didn't see the crash in A bunch since I was with 5 guys up the road. It did get a bit chaotic after the main bunch caught us with some Vets in the mix. But still a great race!
  2. Andrew, just make sure that you get to Barry Roux first! Or The Hub, make sure you also get to Barry Roux first.
  3. It is unfortunate that you train for 9 months plus for IM only to have a puncture or mechanical to end your race. Very unfortunate. But that is how the sport works. It is very harsh but c'est la vie. Riders train for a year for the Tour de France and have a crash or mechanical and lose the race. It happens. They just have to try again the next year. Look at Boonen crashing at the Ronde van Vlaanderen last year. Put him out of the race and he missed Paris-Roubaix. It just happens. Sometimes luck favours you and sometimes it doesn't. Harsh and unfair? Probably. But ultimately it is all part of the sport and one just has to accept that and try do what one can to minimise the risk of crashes and mechanicals.
  4. Should you not focus on the maintenance of the trails as a priority before other facilities like coffee shop etc? Get those sorted out first to bring in the riders. Once there are lots of riders then expand with coffee shops and other facilities.
  5. They do a pretty good job.
  6. Ummmm, speed skating is done on flat ice in a rink. No downhills there.
  7. And if you wore blue I suppose they would bliksem each other to decide who gives you a lift!
  8. Also true! Some would think that The Hub Law is the highest law in the universe!
  9. It is a nice route although the bit through Ghandi Square is not my favourite. I enjoyed the inner city bit they had a few years ago when we got off the M2 and then had a few left-right turns and came out at the same intersection as now just before Mandela Bridge but from the right instead of having to turn left like now (passed SAB???)
  10. Correct. Substantive law comes mostly from Roman-Dutch. Quite a lot of procedural law comes from English. Then of course we have the traditional law aspect.
  11. Hey guys. Thanks for taking lawyers off the most hated list!
  12. So essentially what you are saying is that you are demanding about R16k from someone and you don't even know why or if you should actually be doing so since you can't trace the claim or have no record of it? How do you know how to claim that amount and how do you actually get that amount?
  13. No! It must start down Homestead and finish on Bram Fischer. Mostly downhill for me to get home afterwards then.
  14. So you decided you not racing it next year just because you have to queue to collect your number on the busiest day of registration, which they did warn you about? Cutting off your nose to spite your face? I agree with you Ferret69! They did warn us that Thursday is the busiest day. I always try collect mine at a non busy time and also allow a lot of time to go collect and browse the expo.
