  1. This was the response: Yes, I am really interested in buying this as a surprise for my cousin, only if you can assure me that everything is in order. I am a petroleum engineer currently on a rig offshore, I want this to be a surprise for my cousin, so I won't let him know anything about this until it gets delivered to him. It will be a secure payment via Skrill as I'm on a rig offshore. So, let me know if you have an account with Skrill so I can arrange for the payment asap. Please note, a pickup agent will be coming for the pickup once I have made the payment. SCAMMER
  2. Received this text from a Nigerian cell nr “ I am interested in the bike. Please get back to me via email at smitc12@yahoo.com looking forward to your response” Red flags: I’m not selling a bike, sending a Whatsapp and asking for email response, erm...foreign number... Bikehub user Colinv, also new
  3. I was actually very surprised to receive this response to a gumtree ad yesterday. Thought this scam died 20 years ago but obviously must be working! "I am really interested in buying this as a surprise for my cousin, only if you can assure me that everything is in order. 4. I’ve just realized the brakes I recently bought also came in a plastic bag. Not in a box as evident from those annoying Youtube “unboxing” videos. So also off an OEM bike? I don’t really mind. They work perfectly fine. Price was very good. But some disclosure in this regard might be appropriate for people for whom this might be an issue. Otherwise I really cant fault CWCs service.
  5. I often use AGS, but having seen these alerts I'm staying away for now: Important Update: COVID-19 DelaysDear Customer, Please note that we are still experiencing delays in response time from the customs officials in the South African Customs Facilities at the OR Tambo International Airport. We apologize for the delay, however, we are still able to clear your shipments formally upon your request to the AGS Customer Service Team as stipulated in our update on the 8th July 2020. Thank you for your support and understanding during these challenging times. The AGS Team.
  6. I’ve been waiting (and waiting) for the XT version....
  7. Correct Detective, it's the IXS. The local distributor doesn't import the XLW size, which is why I bought from JensonUSA and not locally.
  8. Always lots of questions regarding the cost of buying stuff from overseas, duties, VAT etc. Here is an example of a recent purchase made from JensonUSA on BF, using Aramex Global Shopper: Helmet (USD59.99) 856.04 Total Shipment Charges 304.00 Clearance 50.00 Duties 207.75 VAT 168.30 Total 1 586.09 Hopefully it will help someone out there.
  9. I'm considering this - if anyone spots any BLACK FRIDAY deals on I9's, please give me a shout!
  10. This a Hope Pro 4? I would like to increase the engagement on mine. Didn’t know it was possible?
  11. It’s insurance... you’ll never know when you might need it. After cutting my tyre on a piece of glass once, I’ll always carry one...
  12. Their website definitely stated that you had to qualify for the 55km race. Probably wasn’t enforced, who knows.
  13. VPS should also do fine. I assume you had to strip down the bike down to the frame yourself?
