  6. there is alot of confusion on this point --- most people think going to WIDER RIM is the solution to their TRACTION/COMFORT problems - not true. some of the wheels/rims on the market are just too wide for the average 2.1/2.2 tyre and when matched to these WIDE RIMS results in the tread no longer sitting where it was designed to be ... this makes alot more sense : https://www.notubes.com/technology/wide-right
  7. KMC is the largest bicycle chain manufacturer in the world - they know a thing or two about how to make a bicycle chain ... most of the high volume SHIMANO models are produced under licence by KMC as someone pointed out you need to be careful of making a blanket statement about KMC - they have a HUGE range of chains ( more than any other chain manufacturer on the planet! ) and offer their MTB and ROAD models in various levels .93 is the entry L - Light - inner link is hollow EL - Extra-Light has both inner and outer links with hollow plates SL - this is above EL and has hollow pins as well every single bike manufacturer in the world turns to KMC for their chains ... it is just a question of which level they buy and spec. Aftermarket is usually the .93 which is cheaper than "name brands" with the same or better quality ... or SL which is lighter than the best of the S brands!
  8. https://www.redbull.com/uk/en/bike/stories/1331821751376/danny-macaskill-wee-day-out Incredible new video. time to go riding!!!!
  9. Gripshift = Sram. Stan Day ( Founder and President ) started Gripshift and was selling product out of a boot of his car - legendary entrepeneur!
  10. another option - currently on special :http://twowheelstrading.co.za/product/smart-dry-caddy/
  11. Supplier has a full range of spares already available for these bikes - see their website:http://rapidbikes.co.za/spares/ Parts used are SHIMANO - readily available and forks are SR SUNTOUR - another well known and trusted brand ... we have just received our first stock of their new PRO SERIES 29ers - best value in the market right now.
  12. " Wtb tightened their tolerances after someone in the states rolled a tyre off the rim and sued them. " Above is true -- they are paranoid now. Stan's Rims also have their own tolerances and the fact of the matter is that STANS + WTB is not a good route to go. STANS + KENDA ( or MAXXIS or CONTINENTAL or SCHWALBE ) is perfect.
