    The Munga 2023

1 week to munga grit tankwa
  3. I didn't expect my disco coastal core to help at all but they paid for it using some checkup benefit offered with surplus funds after pandemic which was a bonus. I wasn't given a general anaesthetic but the doc did say he likes to use a heavy hand with the tranqs. Apparently my colon is a healthy well perfused pink which I would never have said given what happens in a porta potty after a cortado waiting for some race to start. Maybe you can ask him to pour you a double when administering the cocktail
  4. I woke up with it all over and my dr continuing a conversation I'd had with him about my club cricket career (he played for zim years back) that I had no recollection of. Couldn't tell you what happened between lying down and standing up.
  5. Worth it imo. Not pleasant, a little expensive but I found it quite reassuring. Women it's mammograms and yearly pap smears
  6. Yup. If you 40 have a full cardiac workup. At 50 a colonoscopy and gastroscopy. Annual PSA and digital prostate exams. Next on my list is the dermatologist.
  7. I'm amazed at how many of us are willing to ride the r27. Yes the yellow lane is wide but very often when driving that road I find myself shaking my head at a vehicle in that yellow lane on a blind ride as 110kmph getting out of the way of some Muppet doing 130 or 140 who's overtaking. A cyclist on the other side of that rise doing 30kmph does not stand a chance. I've ridden it once. Was harrowing. Won't do it again.
  8. Porta potty's aplenty and make sure they got bogroll in them. There is nothing worse than standing in a line needing the morning ablute with 10 mins to start, disrobing in the Tupperware, dropping the bib shorts and then there's no paper. Take away my medal, misdirect me on the route, don't have enough baby spuds at waterpoint three but the ablutions is a dealbreaker. Echo the stuff around a nice trinket, magnet or something instead of medal GPX route before time is nice
  9. Looks like a LOT of fun - competes with 36one (already entered) for the weekend away / cycling race dollar) which is the following weekend - IT's a 2 and a half hour drive if as @Jbris suggesting is driveable with a 4:30am departure time from CT to avoid accommodation costs but then it's 5 hours in the car for 6 and a half hours of mamil mooching ...... Also thinking about it. I do however sense there's a point at which those around me will mount an intervention to deal with my obsessive race entering.
  10. Some of you mamils make this mamil look skinny #justsaying

  12. I avoid the R27 like the plague - feels like a death trap imho - not enjoyable at all If your road bike is gravel capable there are much safer options.
